スポーツに対する熱狂

こんにちは。純ジャパの純です。一番好きなスポーツは棒高跳びです。

アメリカで一番人気のスポーツは何か、という話題になりました。Britneyの回答は

Definitely football.

とのことでした。サッカーではありません。アメフトです。年に一度NFLの王者を決める大一番、Super BallはアメフトなんてプレイしたこともないBritneyもリアルタイムで見たい、と熱狂していました。Super Ballの日は近所の家に集まって大画面でピザとコーラ(もしくはワイン)を片手に騒ぐ、というのが伝統だったようで

The football craze in a America is quite unique. However, it is not entirely about the game. It also holds traditions that help tie friends and families together.  Eating fried food, half-time show, and cheerleaders is what consist of these traditions. The sport is the center focus with these other actions flowing around it, allowing it to be accessible to those who enjoy the sport or not. Sometimes it is not about the main action but what follows is what makes it valuable. 

とのこと。附随するもので大きくなっていくと。まさに一大イベント。ただ試合自体の規模もすさまじくて、NFL最大の収容人数はメットライフスタジアムで82,500人！

最小でもなんと61,500人のようです。(東京ドームよりそれでも大きい、、)

因みに人気順でいくと

3. アイスホッケー

4. 野球

だそうです。住んでる地域によっても違うようですね。それは日本でも一緒か。虎の集団の優勝で川に飛び込むファンや赤いダイヤが負けると発狂するサポーターもいますもんね。
