【Inside beBit】Technical Support - Dei-san

Inside beBit - A project in which we ask 10 questions about a beBit member's work and personal life. We hope that “Inside beBit” will provide an opportunity to get to know more about the individuals you work with.
In this issue, we asked Dei-san from the Technical Support team to answer our questions!

1:Tell us about your background
Originally, a friend from when I was a student introduced me to beBit and I started part time and was approached through that connection. At the time, I was working for a relatively large company and decided that I wanted to join beBit in order to grow in a more challenging environment.

2:Please tell us about the work you do at beBit
My main task is to respond to inquiries from customers regarding our software (USERGRAM and Web Antenna). This job requires both technical and communication skills, as it is necessary to provide correct solutions to the customers’ problems.
Recently, we have also begun reexamining the support we provide, including the support we provide during the sales stage as well.

3:Tell us one thing you like about beBit
Everyone is sincere and excels at the work they do. I am very grateful for this rare environment I am able to work in.

4:What do you do during your free time?
I tend to watch or play sports. When it comes to watching, I enjoy all sports. In terms of playing, I play golf and go running, as well as attending sports events held within the company when I can. In addition, I enjoy watching Shogi (Japanese chess) broadcasts. I’m a typical “Shogi watcher”.

5:What do you find rewarding about your job?
I find producing good results rewarding. The way I look at my job is that I am paid for the results I produce, so I consider it necessary along with rewarding.

6:Tell us what you value most when working
It may sound obvious, but I find it important to not cut corners.
I would feel horrible and regretful if I cut corners and I was unable to deliver results. In addition, showing that we do not cut corners on a regular basis makes it easier to gain the trust and cooperation of those around us. I’m not sure how well I have been able to show this, though.

7:Tell us how members who (may) work with you should communicate with you
I am a type who does things logically, so I am not very compatible with the “ambiguity” that many people in Japan tend to prefer (I can logically understand that ambiguity is preferred, though). Also, we may not have as many opportunities to see each other in person due to many people working remotely, but my “don’t talk to me” aura that I sometimes have during work is only there because I am focusing on my work. It may take a moment to switch my mind into the conversation, but please feel free to talk to me!

8:Which of the 16Personalities are you?
I am a Logistician (ISTJ-T). I tend to get results similar to this on personality tests, and always feel the results are quite reasonable.

9:What’s something about you that hasn’t changed since you were a child?
I am not good at making small talk. I can answer questions that are asked, but I am unable to start conversations on my own. I don’t think I will ever be able to do so in the future as well. I try my best to at least listen to what others have to say, though.
One positive aspect is my interest in sports. It’s difficult to explain why I have always liked sports, but I think that the fairness and seriousness of competition under certain rules matches my personality.

10:Tell us about any challenges you would like to attempt
Currently, I can only think of challenges for myself at work. I would like to work hard and increase my work responsibilities while also achieving results as well.
I would like to enrich my private life as well, but I can’t see that happening anytime soon so I will continue to be patient...
