Virtual Commencement! Preparation Summary

On April 6, the entrance ceremony for AOIKE High School, Aoike Culinary School, and Wakasa Medical Health & Welfare School in Fukui Prefecture.
While the coronavirus limited the number of visitors, we were able to live-stream the ceremony in a virtual hall, allowing parents and current students to participate in the virtual entrance ceremony.
Some of you may have seen the event as it was covered in newspapers and on TV.

In this issue, I would like to summarize the preparations.

The hall had a virtual graduation ceremony a few weeks ago, but we decided to change the setting from the graduation ceremony.
First, the screen on the stage.
The graduation ceremony had two screens, but due to some subtle delay issues, it was decided to use one screen for the entrance ceremony, and to handle the switching on site.

Two screens are so powerful!
This is what it looked like from the rear of the hall

The screen will be reduced to one, and the sign with the school name at the top will be replaced.
The school names are placed in a balanced manner, taking care to make sure that they are correct and in the correct order.

It's a little sad to see the hall without anyone. I hope lots of people show up that day!

For the graduation ceremony, each school's album was placed on the second floor, but for the entrance ceremony, we displayed a different set of photos.
Here, too, we placed them while keeping a balance of angles and spacing.

Nicely placed!

The photo booth that was so popular at the graduation ceremony will be retained.
You can take pictures with the cherry blossoms in the background, which is unique to this season.

Multiple people taking pictures would be a lot of fun!
And the pics are easy to take!

Now, it was finally the day of the event.
When I went to the hall, there were so many people...!

Lots of people attended! The names above my head look amazing!
And on the second and third floors!

The ceremony started smoothly and ended somewhat earlier than scheduled.
There were some problems during the ceremony, such as sound cracking and the screen going off, but the school staff quickly took care of these problems.

Personally, I felt that it would have been more helpful if there had been an audio or on-screen announcement in the virtual hall at the end of the event.
We hope to make use of this reflection in the next event and continue to hold various events in the future!

Thank you very much for coming!
