"An old camera"：Anizine

As I passed through a countryside on the coastline, I remembered one story. I was doing a photo shoot for a magazine on a beach. One of the models took a very old camera out of her bag with great care and said to me.

“How can I fix this camera?”

I thought it was too old and would be impossible to fix now.

“I think you should buy a new one.”

She looked sad when she heard what I said.

”This camera is a memento given to me by my grandpa who passed away.”

I reflected that I had said something very shallow to her. I have never worked with her since then. That was the only piece of advice I have ever given about cameras in the past that failed. I felt unqualified as a professional photographer.

これは実話ですが、この程度の簡単な短い文章でも日本語と同じ感覚で書くのはまだまだ遠い道のり。こんな言い方しないぞ、みたいなところをコメント欄で指摘していただければありがたいです。
