【まとめ】Y Combinatorに応募する前に確認したいこと

みなさんは、Y Combinatorをご存じですか？

Y Combinatorとは、2005年に始まったアメリカのスタートアップ向けアクセラレータープログラムのこと。AirbnbやGitlab、Dropboxを輩出した有名なプログラムで、スタートアップにとっての登竜門でもあります。

今回は、会社でY Combinatorに応募する機会があったので、Y Combinatorに応募するにあたっての注意点やポイントをまとめた英語のビデオ内容を日本語でまとめてみました。

応募前のチェックリスト（よいアプリケーションの共通点）
・すべての項目に記載されているか
・スペル／文法ミスがないか
・回答はシンプルで簡潔か（小説のような長さは避ける！）
・読みやすくわかりやすいか
・ストーリーがあるか

よいアプリケーションにはストーリーがある
・This is who we are - 私達はこんな人です
・This is what we are working on - 私達はこんなプロダクトを作っています
・This is why we are working on it - 開発している理由
・This is what we have accomplished thus far - これまでに達成したこと
・This is why we are going to make this work - 私達が成功できる理由

アドバイス
1. 戦おうとしている領域／プロダクトカテゴリの専門家が最低1人いること
2. 【非技術的チームの場合】誰がプロダクトを開発するのか明確にすること
3. 

次ステップのインタビューに進むには？
・指示に沿ったアプリケーションがあること
・創業メンバーに技術者がいること
・自身のスタートアップへのコミットが感じられる何かがあること
→もし上記３点が揃っていれば、インタビューにこぎつける確率は～4倍までに上がるそうです。

マメ知識
・前期に採択されたスタートアップの1/3は過去に応募したことがある
　→以前応募したことがあるからといって諦めないで！
・採択されるためのコネは不要
　→Eメールでの事前の猛アプローチも不要。送っても読まれない！
・Y Combinatorへの申請サポートを謳う有償のアドバイザーには気を付ける
