Steve Jobs 「多分一生忘れない英語の名言シリーズ2」

今日はスティーブ・ジョブズの言葉を取り上げたいと思います。下記のリンクにある動画は、彼がまだ若い頃のインタビューからの抜粋になりますが、メッセージはシンプルながら普遍的かつ本質を捉えており幅広い方の心に響く内容になっています。こちらの動画を私は100回以上観た自信があります（笑）。

全部を引用すると長いので、特に気に入っている文章だけを選ぶと以下のようになります。
“Life can be much broader once you discover one simple fact. The most important thing is to shake off this erroneous notion that life is there and you're just gonna live in it, versus embrace it, change it, improve it, make your mark upon it”

私達は日々の生活の中で、無意識に固定観念にとらわれ、自分達で勝手に設定した限界を変えることの出来ない現実として受け入れがちです。しかし私達が陥っている構造に気づく事が出来れば、実は現実を変える事ができる、という彼の言葉は日常に忙殺されがちな私達に気づきを与えてくれます。

"When you grow up you tend to get told that the world is the way it is and your life is just to live your life inside the world-try not to bash into the walls too much, try to have a nice family life, have fun, save a little money. But life-that's a very limited life. Life can be much broader once you discover one simple fact. And that is everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you. And you can change it-you can influence it, you can build your own things that other people can use.
...the most important thing is to shake off this erroneous notion that life is there and you're just gonna live in it, versus embrace it, change it, improve it, make your mark upon it. I think that's very important and however you learn that, once you learn it, you'll want to change life and make it better 'cause it's kind of messed up in a lot of ways. Once you learn that you'll never be the same again."
