Turkey-Syria Earthquake, 6th February, 2023

Antalya where I stay is 820kms away from the affected areas

Thinking of you...all the people affected in Turkey and Syria...❤️

We are OK in Antalya - We are 800Kms away - thanks everyone. But we are nervous to think "what if".

I was extremely shocked to see many and many DMs on Instagram and Twitter, LINE and Skype from my family and friends!

Horrifying news was heard on the first day of school after 2 weeks holiday....

According to news media, at 4:15am today M7.8 has hit directly under the ground that is 32kms away from Gaziantep.

It was 17.7km (11 miles) deep...

The media sources so far reported that over 1,200 people were killed and close to 7,000 people are injured in the both countries...Turkey and its neighbouring country, Syria (as of early time on 7th Feb)

As you know I am from Japan, Japan also has experienced lots of earthquakes that affected lots of families...

Some of the worst earthquake events were...

Great Hanshin Earthquake, M7.3 killed over 6,500 people in 1995,

and Tohoku Earthquake, M9 killed almost 20,000 people in 2011.

I hope that every single assistance from all over the world, will help local people affected by the event today, to get through the difficulties.

Actually, something bothered me to fall a sleep last night till appx. 1am, not sure why it was and kept waking up - not sure what it was.

I don't believe that the earthquake has anything to do with my sleep, but it's def left uncomfortable feelings...
