【英検準1級英作文】ワンパターンがおすすめ！序論と結論部の書き方

こんばんは、車大好き英会話講師のゆっきーです！

IndyCarシリーズもついに始まりました。まだ第1戦のハイライトも観られていないのですが、もう明日には第2戦開幕ですね。楽しみです。

さてこの記事は英検準1級の英作文で、ギリギリ合格点を目指している方や、市販教材の解答例が難しすぎて練習のコツがつかめない方におくります。

合格点に届く序論と結論の書き方をまとめます！

序論と結論

英検準1級英作文は120から150ワードの分量で、序論、本論(理由2つ)、結論の4段落構成で書く決まりになっています。

自分の意見が賛成か反対かを述べる段落である序論も結論も、TOPICの文章をそのまま使ってOKです。

もちろん高得点を狙うなら言い換えや要約があった方が良いですが、ギリギリ合格を目指しているなら、序論と結論はTOPICの文章をそのまま使ってワンパターンで練習するのがおすすめです。

序論と結論のバリエーションを増やすより、文法のミスを減らし(文法点アップ)、使える語彙を増やし(語彙点アップ)、首尾一貫した主張になるよう内容に具体例を入れて書く練習(内容点アップ)に力を入れた方が得策です。

バリエーションを増やす練習は後回しにして、一つでも多くのTOPICに触れるようにしてください。

では具体的にどんなふうにTOPICの文章を活用すればよいのか、ゆっきーオリジナル例題で解説します。

序論部

TOPIC：
Do you think that the Japanese government should do more to help people affected by natural disasters in other countries?
日本は海外の自然災害の被災者をもっと支援すべきか

序論で賛成か反対か、自分の立場を明確にします。その方法はTOPICに、賛成の場合は "I think" を、反対の場合は "I do not think" をつけるだけです。

答え方：
I think that the Japanese government should do more to help people affected by natural disasters in other countries.

I do not think that the Japanese government should do more to help people affected by natural disasters in other countries.

「Agree or disagree系」のTOPICでは賛成の場合は"I agree"、反対の場合は"I disagree"または "I do not agree"でOKです。

TOPIC：
Agree or disagree: The Japanese government should do more to help people affected by natural disasters in other countries
賛成か反対か：日本は海外の自然災害の被災者をもっと支援すべきである

答え方：
I agree that the Japanese government should do more to help people affected by natural disasters in other countries.

I disagree that the Japanese government should do more to help people affected by natural disasters in other countries.

I do not agree that the Japanese government should do more to help people affected by natural disasters in other countries.

結論部

結論は、本論（第2段落と第3段落）で述べた2つの理由を受けて、改めて自分の意見を主張する場所です。

新しい情報は足さずに、「結論として、私の意見は__である」という形にします。

結論のまとめ方にも様々なバリエーションがありますが、私のおすすめは "In conclusion, I believe ___." です。

答え方：
In conclusion, I believe that the Japanese government should do more to help people affected by natural disasters in other countries.

In conclusion, I do not believe that the Japanese government should do more to help people affected by natural disasters in other countries.

「Agree or disagree系」のTOPICでは賛成の場合は"In conclusion, I agree"、反対の場合は"In conclusion, I disagree"または "In conclusion, I do not agree"でOKです。

In conclusion, I agree that the Japanese government should do more to help people affected by natural disasters in other countries.

In conclusion, I disagree that the Japanese government should do more to help people affected by natural disasters in other countries.

In conclusion, I do not agree that the Japanese government should do more to help people affected by natural disasters in other countries.

序論と全く同じで物足りない場合には、"strongly"を足して "I strongly agree"や"I strongly disagree"にしても良いです。

まとめ

序論と結論はワンパターンで練習し、一つでも多くのTOPICに触れ、どんなジャンルの問題でも作文を完成させる力をつけることがおすすめ。

そして練習を続け、同じ表現を使うことに飽きてきたら、その時に新しい表現を使うようにします。

その頃にはだいぶ力がついているはずなので、本番で使える英語表現を少しずつ増やしていくとよいですよ。
