my schedule

Hello everybody! How’s it going guys these days? I’ve been doing well so far! I’m gonna share my schedule in a day at this time:)

皆さんこんにちは！調子はいかがですか？私は変わらず元気にしています:) 今回はこっちの1日の流れについて紹介しようかなって思います！

I’ve had a routine since my classes began two months ago. I’ll go sharing my weekdays at first, then weekends. Usually, I set up the alarm to wake up at 7:30, cook my breakfast and lunch and prepare to catch the bus at 9. (I personally like the driver at 9!! He always says hi to me and gives me smiles. He usually listens to 80-90s music loudly on the bus, it’s so funny) Then taking the bus for 20~25 mins, I study at the library until the first class starts at 11. I usually do my homework and these blogs. Then, speaking and listening class from 11~1pm. I have lunch break at 1~3pm, so at that time I do something by myself or hang out with my friends! Then, reading and writing class from 3~5pm, after that usually I go to the gym!! These days, I go there with my friends, we work out with machines or play basketball, volleyball or badminton:) It Depends on the day and our mood. (we sometimes try rock climbing!!) Then usually, I spend 1~2 hours there and go to my apartment. Getting back to my room, I cook dinner and eat, take a shower, do homework, chill on the bed and good night;) This is my routine!! But only on Wednesdays, I have two conversation groups from 3~5pm. (talking with native speakers. practice of speaking English)

学校が始まって2ヶ月ともなると、だいぶ毎日のルーティンが定まってきました。まず平日のようす、そして土日の様子を紹介しようと思います。平日はいつも7:30に起きて9:00のバスに乗れるように朝と昼ごはん、その他準備をします。(個人的に9:00のバスドライバーさんの感じが良くて好き。いつも80 or 90s musicをガンガン流すんです)大体バスで大学まで20〜25分くらいなので、11:00から始まる授業まで図書館で勉強。宿題やこの留学日記を進めたりしています。そして11〜1:00までspeaking/listeningクラス。次のクラスが3:00〜なのでそれまでの2時間はお昼休憩でひとりで過ごしたり友達と会ったり！そして3〜5:00までreading/writingクラスで、その後はジムに行って運動しています。最近は友達と一緒に行くことが多くて、マシーンを使ってワークアウトしたりバスケ、バレーボール、バドミントンなどしたり日によってさまざま！(ロッククライミングが空いてる日は挑戦してみたり！)だいたいいつも1〜2時間ジムで過ごして帰宅という流れ。帰ったら夜ご飯を作って食べて、シャワーを浴びて宿題をしてゆっくりしておやすみなさい、というのが基本のルーティン！平日だと水曜日はクラスがないので午前はゆっくり過ごします。水曜日は毎週3〜5:00までふたつのconversation group(現地の学生とおしゃべり。speakingの練習)

Then, I’ll talk about weekends! I usually have plans on Saturday because the KU bus works. (The KU bus means university bus service. They are free and work in Lawrence!!) On Sundays, I go to church (my friends take me) in the morning and eat lunch together, then go shopping and grocery stores in the afternoon with my roommate. We go to Walmart (sometimes ALDI) to get groceries for a week and go to department stores like Target, Tj-max, ROSS and so on around our apartment to see clothes or cosmetics. I’ve caught a technique of shopping recently, and it’s so fun because their products are changing every time I go!! (I’m looking for Halloween stuff and an outer for winter these weeks!)

そして次に土日のようす。土曜日はKU bus (留学先大学のフリーバス、Lawarence街中を走っています)が動いているのでだいたい友達と会う予定を入れます。日曜日は午前中は教会に連れて行ってもらってそこでお昼も食べて午後はルームメイトとショッピングというのがルーティン。1週間分の食料調達でWalmartへ(たまにALDIとか)また時間をかけてtarget, Tj-max, ROSSなどアパートメントの周りをまわって洋服やコスメを見てまわります🥰毎週行ってると買い物のコツとかもわかってきたり、何より品物が毎週ゴロゴロと変わるので凄く楽しいんです！！！ (今はずっとhalloween goodsと冬用のアウターを探しています)

These are my routines! I can’t wait for fall break, thanksgiving break and winter break;)

だいたいのルーティンはこんな感じです。これからfall break, thanksgiving break, winter breakと毎月休みがあるのでそれを楽しみに過ごしていきたいと思ってます🤩

mini story- the experience of going to church
I have experienced going to church since I came here. (on Sunday mornings) Simply to say, I think it’s so good to believe in some religion. I don’t mean I will be a Christian. I will explain this. To be honest, I felt so awkward at first because I thought I had to be a Christian if I was close to Christians. But of course, it’s not. It was so meaningful that pastors gave stories, it gave me a chance to see my life and give advice everytime. (But honestly, I can understand what they said only just 3~40%, and I always get lost in reading bible with everyone lol) Personally, I’m so interested in philosophy and psychology like caring for myself, mental health or something, so it’s so interesting and lots of good learning for me to listen their stories. (Like peace, love, community (connection with people), happiness) Last week, when I felt so sad, my friend gave me one saying ”Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it” from bible, it encouraged me a lot really. I feel the people who believe in Jesus are so nice, they can be nice to be everyone. Usually asking myself, why can they welcome and be nice to me because I don’t believe Christianity, I’m just an exchange student from Japan. And then coming up the answer, just because they believe Christianity, there has some saying there. I think this is amazing but I cannot explain it actually. I feel that they believe in one thing, live together, support and care for each other.  They also have a community, I really like this culture. I don’t think we, like Japanese culture, are not common this nowadays. Therefore, I’ve had really good experiences and learned a lot from going to church!

プチストーリー　教会のおはなし
そしてこっちに来てから教会に行く経験をしていて感じたことがあります。（毎週日曜日の午前）シンプルにまとめると、何か宗教を信仰することってすごくいい影響を持っていると思いました。最初はキリスト教を布教されているみたいで、少し違和感は正直ありました。でも毎週教会で牧師さんがしてくれる話は意味深くて、人生を見つめ直してアドバイスをくれているようです。（正直3～40％くらいしかはっきり聞き取れてないし、聖書のストーリーをみんなで読んでるときは迷子になることが多いですが）個人的にメンタルヘルスや哲学的なことにすごく興味を持っているので、peace, love, community (connection with people), happinessなどをキーワードに話を聞くことが多いので色んな人がくれる話がとても興味深くて多くのことを学ぶことができます。（この間悩んでたときに”Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it”と伝えてくれて、すごく勇気づけられました= 意味はどんな感情も願いも考えも心からうまれるものだから注意深くケアしてねという感じ）どうしてキリスト教を信じてない私を教会に通うみんなはとても暖かく毎回ウェルカムしてくれるのか… その答えはきっとキリスト教にそういう教えがあるから。ここの人達は困っている人がいると手を差し伸べることができます。日本ではお節介ていう言葉があるけど、イメージ的にそんな感じ。みんな世話焼きだけど、ある意味めちゃくちゃそれっていいことだなって。みんながお互いを助け合って生きているって感じをすごく感じます。”ひと”だなって。そういう居所、コミュニティがあるってめちゃくちゃ素敵！！そしてそのコミュニティを中心に色んなアクティビティやイベントが開催されるんです。色んな年代の人を関わる経験ができるし日本にもこういう機会がもっとあったらいいなって思います！（日本の町内会みたいな感じかも？）このように新しいことを学ぶことができて、とてもいい経験をさせてもらっています:)
