「おはようございます！」「・・・・。」元気よく、挨拶した声が、虚しく教室の中を響き渡った。誰1人、僕の話を聞いてくれる生徒はいない。そう、誰1人も。

"Good morning""......." My vibrant voice spread throughout the classroom but nobody listened to me. No one.

　タイでの日本語教師の任期を終えて、僕は日本で高校教師をしていた。一般企業入社を目指すも、大学卒業時にまともに就職活動をしていなかった。就職活動とは何か。全く学んでこなかったため、帰国後、無職でいることに耐えられなかった。教員免許がある。だから学校の先生になろう。あまりに安直な考えだった。
At the time I was a high school English teacher after finishing my job as a Japanese teacher in Thailand. I tried to get a job at a Japanese company but I didn't know how to search for a job in Japan. I could not stand the no job situation. I have already obtained a teaching license so I decided to become a teacher. It was a simple idea.

教育業界のお仕事を紹介しているエージェントへ赴き、すぐに紹介してもらった。が、そこは県内でも有名な元ヤンキー校。しかも、8月から入社なのに、担任を任される。ということは、「何らかの事情で」担任の先生が退職したことになる。その理由は聞かされなかったが、無職でいるよりましだと思い、入社を決意。そして、教壇に立った。
I visited an agent who introduced educators for schools and they introduced me to a high school quickly. However, the school is known as neglectful school. In addition to that, I will be in charge as a classroom teacher even though I began work at the school in August. It means that the previous classroom teacher quit his job for some reason. However, I was not informed of the reason why the previous teacher quit. But I decided to start work there because I didn't have a job.

　「おはよう。みんな、、、、」「、、、、。」誰1人僕の話を聞いていない。担当は特別進学クラスのはずなのに、「進学」を意識した人はいなかった。授業中、「先生なんか面白いこと言ってよ」とある生徒が言ってきた。あの手この手で、生徒の注意を引くしかない。そう思い、タイで女性だと思って楽しく話していた人があとで男性だった、という話をした。
"Good morning everyone"."......".
No one listens to me. I am a special advanced classroom teacher but no one has the motivation to enter university.
One of the students said to me that it makes us laugh during lessons. I had to attract them in various ways. I shared the story from my time in Thailand, when I mistook a man for a woman whom I enjoyed chatting with.

「なんか面白いことを言って」と言ったくせに、途中から友達と雑談を始め出した。
またある生徒は、授業中にスマホを投げ合って遊んでいる。いかれている。
英語の授業の前に、人として見直さないといけないと思い、1人ずつ呼び出し、話をした。彼らが何を考えているか知るために。
Unbelievably, the student started to chat with his classmate during my story even though he said to me "make us laugh".
Another student was playing with the smartphones. It was chaos!
Morals should come first, English class is the second.
I called students one by one to know what they were thinking about not to scold them. We needed to become familiar with one another before I could teach them English.

しかし、この僕の行動が学校内で大炎上した。ある生徒が保護者に言いつけ、「体罰だ」と言ってきたのだ。もちろん、一度も体罰をふるったことはない。ただ一対一で呼び出し、話を聞いただけだ。
職員室中、その噂が広まり、私は完全に四面楚歌の状態になった。何をやっても空回り。
However, I sparked major backlash by my action. One of parents call to school and accused me of corporal punishment. Of course I didn't use corporal punishment.
The rumor spread to the teacher's workplace and I was blamed from all sides. There was nothing I could do.
