Good job

この記事は、アンドリュー・クオモの下記ツイートに触発されて書いた一連のツイートをまとめたものです。まず、曲を聞いてください。

1) 一ヶ月くらい前、食料品を買いに行った小さな店で音の悪いラジオがなっていた。雑然と散らばった商品の中で、人々が黙々と買い物をしていた。
ラジオからDJが I love NY と言うのが微かに聞こえ、静かな曲が始まった。会見から切り取ったクオモの声が重なっていた。

2) 彼が「ニューヨーカーは負けない、団結して絶対にこの戦いに勝つ」と言っているところをDJは曲に重ねていたのだ。政治家のスピーチとラジオの音楽という奇妙な組合せに、とても素朴な政治が残っているような気がした。オラが代表に頑張ってもらいたい村人達のイメージ。

3)さらに一ヶ月後、アリシア・キーズの曲にクオモの声が重なれられていた。その部分だけ訳す試み。

「全ての経済が止まったわけでない。毎朝起きて、食品を商品棚にのせてくれる人々、病院に行って医療を施してくれる人々、彼らはずっと働いていた。そして、この人たちはそこで、ウイルスに晒された」

4)「私は、この素晴らしい仕事をしてくれている人たち、それを毎日やってくれている人たちに感謝したい。
毎日偉大な仕事をするために出勤する州の職員たち、そして警察や救急隊員達に感謝したい」

5)「これはとても長い戦いです。そして、これからも続くでしょう。でも、私は彼らに知って欲しい。私たちみんなが彼らにどれだけ感謝しているかを」

6)「あなた達に神のご加護を。ありがとう。
私達はあなた達を尊敬し、畏敬の念に打たれています。私たちは皆、貴方たちに借りがあるのです」

7) あれから毎日 Good job を聞いている。聞きやすいようにダウンロードして、Vimeo に入れた。
