中国にコロナ被害を賠償させることはできるか

コロナウイルスによる被害を中国に賠償させようとする国際的な動きがあるが、これについて、やや詳しく考察した記事が出た。

たとえば、アメリカが中国に賠償させる手段としては、対中関税の引き上げ、対中赤字の帳消し、中国資産の凍結を各国に呼びかける、州や個人が中国に賠償請求を起こすことを米国議会が許可する、といったことが提案されている。

大統領選挙を控えたアメリカでは、これらは政治的にアピールしやすい主張ではあるが、経済的には、どの手段も有効とは考えられないと、この記事はいう。

この記事で私がとくに注目したのは、アメリカがそのような手段に出ると、逆にアメリカを相手どった国際訴訟が続出する恐れがある、という指摘である。
