始まり
休日、近所で行われていた芸術祭に息子と出かけました。
それは田舎町の各所にアート作品を設置し、町とアートを楽しむという企画の芸術祭でした。
４歳の息子とアート作品を見て、どれが好き？とか言ってそれなりの休日を過ごしていました。

そのなかで心をグッと掴まれるような作品に出合いました。

大きい紙いっぱいに青い文字が書いてありました。
記号のような、何だろうと思い近くで見ると文字が見えてきました。
スタッフに話を聞くと、日記のようなものと教えて頂き、さらに惹かれていきました。
アート作品を製作するという概念ではなく、あたり前の日記を書き続けたのちに人からアートと見られる。
これこそ人間そのものを映し出す作品ではないかと考えさせられました。
そのブースには｢障害者アート｣とだけ書いてありました。

The encounter with Miss. Morikawa
On one holiday, Imai (W@nderFabric) went to The Arts Festival which nearby my house with his son. They had a good time talking.
To set up works around the town and enjoy the view of town and arts was the festival’s concept. Then, Imai came across great work that gripped my heart.
There were many blue letters on a large canvas. The staff told him about Morikawa’s works. Those were kind of her diary and they attracted Imai so much.
When Miss. Morikawa draws something, she is not conscious of making art. She just draws letters that are about her daily occurrences or favorite things. And her works are admitted by people it is art.
Imai was convinced that it is the essence of art and Morikawa's works mirror people their selves.

森川さんは知的障害のある女性です。
社会福祉法人昴が運営するまちこうばGROOVIN‘というアトリエに通っています。
一番好きな色は青色。作品の多くを青色のペンで描きます。
日々の出来事や、楽しかったこと、むかしのこと、明日の予定、数字や曜日など思いついたことが紙面にあふれ出し、青色の文字で埋め尽くされます。
彼女は人への関心が高く、特に誕生日や年齢、車のナンバーなど数字にまつわることをよく質問されたりします。
スタッフはじめいろいろな人とのおしゃべりがとても好きで、楽しかった会話がまた文字となって表れていきます。
彼女にとっては作品というより、日記的なものかもしれません。

森川さんの通う社会福祉法人昴/NPO法人かうんと５は協働して障害のある人たちの創作活動の支援をしています。

How to make Riona Morikawa’s works
Miss. Morikawa draws pictures with letters. It is like a diary. She writes about something that is her daily occurrences, experiences, tomorrow’s schedule, number, days of week and pleasures with blue letters. Her works are full of herself.
She has wide range of interests. Especially, birthday, age and a car number. She often asks questions about them. She likes talking with various people and new work is born from those experiences.

どうしても森川さんの作品でCAPを作ってみたいと思い、
森川さんの通う社会福祉法人昴様に連絡し後日伺いました。
僕の思いとCAPを製作したい事をお伝えし、使用権利を購入させて頂きました。

びっしりの文字の作品をキャップにしたいと連絡があった時は驚きました。そのあとすぐ嬉しさがきました。
とどいたデザインは、“素晴らしすぎる！”と思いました！
というのも、あの文字のビッシリ感は絵としてはとても見ごたえがあるのですが、商品としては癖が強すぎるんじゃないかと思っていましたがとどいたデザインは黒地に目立ちすぎない青文字でデザインされており、ビッシリだけどスッキリで被りやすいなあと思いました。
そして森川さんの一番好きな青色を使っており、作者の意匠もきちんともりこんであり、“素晴らしすぎる！！”（2度目）と思いました！
自分たちもグッズをつくることが多いのですが、絵を活かそう活かそうという思いが前に出過ぎて、商品になった時のことまで考えずに作ってしまい、インパクトはあるけれど誰が着るの？といった感じになってしまうことが多々あります。
今回の帽子は、使う人のこと、作者のこと、デザイナーの今井さんの意匠がすごくバランスよくデザインされているように思い（エラそうですみません(^_^;)）とても勉強になりました。
障害のある人たちの作品は福祉施設の中だけで完結せず、様々な方がそれぞれのアプローチで関わり、発信されていくことも大切なことかと思います。
そして今回ワンダーファブリックさんのように作者の世界観にも寄り添った感じもよかったですし、大切にしたいことの一つです。

Message from Ishihara (Kaunnto 5 of NPO)
I was surprised when he contacted me Imai wanted to use Morikawa's work as a cap, and I was so happy.
The design of the cap he sent me was very wonderful.
Because I knew Morikawa's work is very attractive as a picture, but I also thought it was difficult to be goods.
The design of W@nderFabric cap had Morikawa's work printed in blue letters on a black background, it was strong but easy to wear. The cap impressed me because it has Morikawa's favorite blue color. There was the care of Mr. Imai who respects the author’s feelings.
When staffs make goods, they try to use them for goods. But we didn't think after they became goods.
The cap designed by W@nderFabric has been designed to balance comfort, the feeling of the author, and the intention of the designer Imai, and I have learned a lot.
I want many people to see the works that were made by disability person. And the chance good for us to understand and help each other with different approaching.
Also, I respect Imai’s way because he respects the feeling of the author.
I am certain that Miss. Morikawa and her family are so happy to be able to make a cap with W@nderFabric.

僕は昔からなぜか「あたり前である」という言葉に魅力を感じます。
森川さんの作品は１秒１秒を楽しく生きることで
１筆１筆をオリジナリティあふれる文字が生まれているように感じました。
森川さんの「あたり前である」事が人を魅了する作品となるのは
森川さんの「らしさ」が自然体で伝わる美しさではないかと感じました。

今回、森川さんの作品に勝手に一目ぼれして、CAP製作をさせて頂きました。
森川さま、ご家族さま、担当して頂いた石平さん本当にありがとうございました。​

I wanted to make a cap using Morikawa's work, so I contacted the social welfare corporation Subaru and visited her at a later date. I told my thoughts and offered to make a CAP. I was permitted to use Morikawa's work.
I do not know why but I've always been fascinated by the word "Be yourself".
Living every second happily makes her work unique and the work attracts people. In other words, her work shows us that being yourself is the most beautiful.
I'm glad I could make a cap with Miss. Morikawa.
I thank Miss. Morikawa, her family, and Mr. Ishihara so much.
