【へっぽこ英会話７Months④】今日、４つの習い事の送迎とヨガをする予定
コスタリカに住んでいる講師と雑談。
「どこに住んでいるの？」と聞くと、「住んではいない」と返ってきた。というのも彼はトラベラー。コスタリカに、liveじゃなくてstayらしい。
I don't live anywhere, I spend my life travelling.
I'm always going from country to country, so I don't live anywhere, but I'm currently staying in Costa Rica.
人生を旅しながら過ごしています。
いつも国から国へと移動しているので、どこにも住んでいませんが、現在はコスタリカに滞在しています。
最近聞いた英語の中で、一番coolな発言だった。
ちなみに、コスタリカの場所はココ↓
さて、今日は、週末の予定について色々と話をした。
英語で話をしていると「今日の予定は？」とか「週末の予定は？」という質問をよく受ける。だから、会話中に今日何をするのか？を考える時間の余裕はない。
レッスン前に、自分の予定を確認しておくようにしている。（常に確認しておけば良い話であるが💦）

以下、講師との話を書き起こしてみた。

what are your plans for the weekend?
Let me explain today's plan.
I got up at about 4am.
The time here is 7am now because today is very busy.
So I had to make breakfast and I wanted to study English.
However my daughter woke up at the same time.
she finds it hard getting up early during the week, but she woke up at crack of sparrows this morning.
I could no longer study English.
so she got up and kind of disrupted things.
今日の予定を説明しましょう。
私は午前4時頃に起きました。
今日はとても忙しいので、今は午前7時ですが、朝食を作らなければならなかったのです。
英語の勉強をしたいと思いました。
しかし、娘も同じ時間に起きてしまいました。
彼女は平日は早起きが苦手なのですが、今朝は起きてしまいました。
私はもう英語の勉強ができません。
彼女が起きてきて、ちょっと邪魔をしてしまったのですね。
after this class I need to my daughter to her extracurricular penmanship class, during which I will be busy making lunch.
after she finishes, she will come home and we will eat lunch together.
after lunch, she will go to cram school, at which time I will do a spot of hot yoga, where people do yoga in a sealed room at 35 degrees and 60% humidity.
you're pouring with sweat by the end of it.
その間、私はお弁当作りで忙しいでしょう。
終わったら娘は家に帰ってきて、一緒に食べます。
昼食後、娘は塾に行きます。
その時間を利用して、私はホットヨガをします。
ホットヨガとは、温度35度、湿度60%の密閉された部屋でヨガをするものです。
終わった頃には汗が噴き出しますね。
by the time I finish my hot yoga, I tend to be sweating from head to foot.
once I finish doing my yoga I will pick her from school, rush home, have a bite to eat, before rushing out again to take her to her piano lesson and then to a swimming lesson.
she goes swimming twice a week.
So, now she is trying to practice the third stroke.
ヨガを終えると、娘を迎えに行き、急いで家に帰り、軽く食事をしてから、また急いでピアノのレッスンに連れて行き、その後、水泳のレッスンに連れて行きます。
娘は週に2回水泳に通っていて、今は3番目の泳ぎ方を練習しようとしています。

front crawl, backstroke, breast stroke and butterfly. （doggy paddle）
that's your four swimming strokes.
what does she want to do then?
she wants to start doing karate.
she's focusing on her swimming now, so that she can start doing karate soon.
泳ぎ方の名称は知っていますか？
クロール、背泳ぎ、平泳ぎ、バタフライ。（犬かき）
これが泳ぎ方の4つです。
次は彼女は何をしたいですか？
空手を始めたいそうです。
すぐに空手を始められるように、今は水泳に集中していまるのですね。
it doesn't sound like she has a lot of free time, do you think that she's doing too much, do you think she needs more free time to relax.
do you think it's good for her to stay busy?
I think it's good for her.
Because she gets to do whatever she wants.
I've never forced her.
I let her think for herself and do whatever she wants.
彼女はやりすぎだと思いますか、それともリラックスできる自由時間がもっと必要だと思いますか。
忙しくするのは彼女にとって良いことだと思いますか。
彼女にとって良いことだと思います。
彼女は自分のしたいことを何でもできるからです。
私は彼女に強制したことは一度もありません。
彼女が自分で考えて、やりたいことを何でもやらせています。
She is highly motivated and has a lot of things she wants to do.
She has the ability to do it all.
I feel she is good at using her time.
Because she studies in her free time.
She also plays outside.
She never gets tired.
she is still young.
I get tired just watching her.
When I watch her, I worry about myself.
Because I get tired easily.
you're sort of rushing around taking her from one place to another, one activity to another, you've got no time for yourself either.
Yoga will be the only time I have time to relax.
全部こなす能力があります。
時間の使い方が上手だと思います。
自由時間には勉強もしますし、外で遊ぶこともあります。
まだ幼いので、全然疲れません。
彼女を見ていると疲れてしまいます。
彼女を見ていると、自分のことが心配になります。
すぐに疲れてしまうので。
彼女をあちこち連れて行ったり、アクティビティを次から次へと変えたりと、あわただしく動き回っていると、自分の時間もありませんね。
ヨガは、私がリラックスできる唯一の時間です。
