The Tyranny of Merit

I started to use OpenDyslexia as a kindle font. I am not dyslexia but reading ruler tend to enhance focus on reading so I hope it would help my reading. (By the way I am really hard to read English sentence which line is too long.  (e.g wikipedia in Chrome browser)). 

predicament: 苦境

It's origin is from Aristotle's logic but I don't get what it means. 

Also etymology dicitionary states that it derives from pre- and dict=say. However, I wasn't sure how it came to mean that way. I guess it originally mean "cannot say" and becomes the today's meaning of in unpleasant.

it is always hard to find a corresponding word for katakana-go. It is also difficult to tell the correct pronunciation. For example, Aristotle is pronounced like Alice-tou-tell-ace in Japanese though correct pronunciation in English is ˈærɪstὰṭl.

He now saying that explaining the rise of populists solely in terms of economic or xenophobic reasons is a mistake. The book is now on criticism on technocracy. It points out the fraudulence of globalists view; not captured to a country and fond of market principle. 

It seems the next paragraph will deal with the change of supporters of Labor party starting from Ronald Regan.

I didn't know this American Dessert though I don't feel like to eat it. American foods are mystery for me. For example, Corn bread is totally different meaning in Japan and America.

Mark McLelland passed away

I totally didn't know the guy but he did abundant research on Japanese LGBT community and wrote many books. Threre's no Japanese wikipedia page for him. Maybe I should read his book someday.
