サッコとヴァンゼッティのバラード

「サッコ・バンゼッティ事件」を描いた
映画「死刑台のメロディ」(1970)の
テーマソングと挿入歌、それら２曲ををジョーン・バエズが作詞して歌っている（曲はMorricone）
テーマ曲の『Here's To You』のフランス語詞をバエズがジョルジュ・ムスタキに依頼したのだそうだ。そしてムスタキはそのフランス語詞で歌ってレコーディングした『Marche de Sacco et Vanzetti 』
ムスタキとバエズの関係でおどろいて、映画の挿入歌のもう１曲『The Ballad Of Sacco And Vanzetti (Sacco E Vanzetti)』を聴くのがおざなりだった。今回じっくり聴いて、詞も読んだ。

・・・しかし歌唱力すごい、音域も広い。これはもおうコピーして歌おうなど言うことが出来るわけはない。
詞に関してはこの詞は、５０年経っているとは思えない今日、世界を日本を取り巻いている諸問題にふさわしい詞だと思った。

今の日本のシンガーたちの歌う詞は抽象的で曖昧な感じを受けるんですね、ワタシには。すごく短い「愛」とか「友情」とか「優しさ」の半径の中をぐるぐる永遠に回っているかのよう。そこから遠心力ではみ出ようとする言葉は自主規制しているのかな、みんな？
