Man in The Mirror

先日、あるＴＶ番組で男性タレントがマイケル・ジャクソン（ＭＪ）のモノマネをやっていた。ＭＪの特徴ある歌い方で周囲の笑いをとっていたのだが、ちょっとだけ悲しい気分になった。

歌っていたのは　Man in The Mirror。歌詞はメチャクチャだったが、確かにＭＪが歌っているように聞こえる。モノマネの完成度が高いだけに余計に悲しくなる。

別にその男性タレントを責めているのではない。歌詞がデタラメだったことに文句を言っているのでもない。

Man in The Mirror　がすばらしい曲であるだけに、「笑い」とは相容れないのである。

　

以下は　Man in The Mirror　のサビの部分。決して難しい英語ではないので最後まで目を通してほしい。うまくはないが、訳をつけてみた。

簡単なメッセージじゃないか

歌詞に注目して聞き直して欲しい。「笑いとは相容れない」理由がわかってもらえると思う。
