Summary: Route Map

Destination 1: Nagaiya Confectionery

When we stayed at the Tenjiku, this confectionery was recommended to us after speaking with the owner of the inn. We actually stopped by after checking out of the inn. They sell them individually for as little as 70 yen each (price as of May 2024), so you can buy two or three and eat them during your trip. They are also sold by the box, but the expiration date is a little shorter, about 4 days, so if you are giving them out to someone, it is recommended to buy a box.

I actually ate this manju and it was very delicious. The balance between the dough and the sweetness of the red bean paste was very good.

The store staff was also very nice.

Destination 2: Roadside Station “Manba no Sato” (Thrilling bridge)

There is a suspension bridge over the river (100 yen). (The suspension bridge has a wire mesh bottom, making it a thrilling experience. You can walk along the edge or skip steps in the middle. When you cross the bridge and look back, you can see the roadside station and the surrounding scenery in the distance. Going down to the bottom, you will find a place where you can play in the river.

The recommended gourmet foods are soy milk ice cream and Manyo's Tofu. I bought some Manyo's Tofu and it was different from the tofu you can get at the supermarket. It is just so rich and full of flavor. If you like tofu, you should definitely try it.

Destination 3: Roadside Station “Ueno” (lunch)

This roadside station has a restaurant where you can enjoy “Inobuta,” a specialty of Ueno Village. The restaurant offers a variety of meals using “Inobuta” brand meat, such as hot pot, set meals, ramen, and rice bowls. In addition, there is a dessert shop where you can try the unique Tosaishi Miso soft-serve ice cream.

Although it was not possible to do so this time due to the time of year, there is a place where you can have a BBQ with your own hands while enjoying the view of the river. You can enjoy the view of the river and go down to play in the river, so please visit.

Destination 4: Forest Adventure Ueno

This is an athletic facility where children and adults alike can enjoy moving their bodies. It may look easy from just looking at the pictures, but it is surprisingly tricky and strenuous. After conquering the course, you will finish the course with a long slide, but the landing of this long slide also requires some tricks. If you fail, your back will be covered with fallen leaves and sand. (Laughs).
However, it feels great when you are going down the slider, and the later you go down, the more you will feel a sense of accomplishment. It is a place where children can have fun, but adults can also fully enjoy themselves.

Destination 5: Showa-era retro hot spring bath Tamagawa Onsen (for those from Kanto)

When I was looking for a hot spring to take a bath after exercising in the athletic facilities, I was curious about Tamagawa Onsen when I saw it on Google Maps and went there. It has a nostalgic Showa-era atmosphere, and you can immerse yourself in this atmosphere even before entering the hot spring. It was like stepping back in time, and just looking at the old games and candy corner was exciting.

There are autographs of famous people at the reception desk. Among them was the autograph of Yuki Yoda, a member of Nogizaka46, which made me feel that many famous people come here.

The hot springs were also very nice. There are two open-air baths, and the temperature is a bit high and the water quality is a bit thick. It is perfect for those who like baths with higher water temperature.
