【英検準1級ライティング#1,2】小さな個人店は現代社会で生き残れるか

　帰国間際に出店させていただいたトロントのガレージセール会場。ここで、ダウンコートなどなど売払い、最後の月の家賃にあてました。
買ってくださった方に本当に感謝の気持でした！！！(T_T)(T_T)

一番高額で買っていただいたのは、トロントのクリスマスセールで買った、どこかのブランドのダウンコートで、たしか、120カナダドル位でお買い上げいただきました。
　
　私は、カナダうまれの姿勢法ミツヴァテクニックを学ぶため、トロントに行きました。トロントでミツヴァを学ぶ生徒さんから、ガレージセールにお声がけいただき参加。毛布やラグ、ホストファミリーの方にカンパ頂いたDVDセット等、家から会場まで、スーツケース2つでたりず、取っ手に丸めた毛布をくくりつけて、大移動。周りの人には何事に映ったでしょう？
随所で必要なヘルプをいただいて、なんとか搬入できた記憶です。ありがたい。

　会場にて、ミツヴァのミニ講座もやらせていただきました！
日本の方、カナダ人？（どの国の方もいらっしゃるので”何人”かはわからないことが多い）、韓国の方もいらして、心穏やかではなかったですが（言葉の問題）楽しくやらせていただきました！！！

今日の添削がまだ途中なので、
今日は、9/3、初日のライティングをアップします。

初日のことを思い出してみると、やっぱり慣れてきたと感じます(T_T)
書くのも最初より速くなった。人間ってやっぱり進歩するんだなと
感じます笑

I think small, independent shops and businesses can survive in modern society.
I will give two reasons to support my opinion which focus on the advantages of customer service and traditional skills.

[main body]
To begin with, from the viewpoint of customer service, small business owners have competitive strength.

They can often build strong relationships with the local customers and know well about customer's needs and preferences so that they can serve more friendly and personal service than big malls do.
That is why many people prefer these relationships.

Second, there are many kinds of traditional skills that small factories have.
I think, in this global society, more and more people put a high value on unique things that you can only meet at a specific place instead of ordinary things that you can meet everywhere.

In conclusion, people in modern society will continue buying products and services from small, independent companies which fascinate people with their own services and products.

I disagree with the idea that small, independent shops and businesses can survive in modern society.

[main body] 
 　　To begin with, from the viewpoint of cost, small stores cannot compete with large companies and chain stores. Big companies can save costs of purchase and transportation by processing everything in large quantities. That way, they offer products at a reasonable price. Small shop's merchandise is often more expensive. People prefer to buy cheaper goods if the quality is satisfactory.
(*Now world economies are in a great recession. It will promote people's demand for economical goods.)
　　Second, when the economy is in crisis, large companies can improve their situation to some extent by decreasing their product lineup or downsizing their operations such as reducing the number of shops or staff.
On the other hand, even the bankruptcy of a corporate client would be a big blow to a small business.
(※As a result, these days, especially in small cities, the number of small shops has been declining.)

In conclusion, unfortunately, small businesses cannot get through the present society with strong rivals and consumers who pursue cheaper prices.
