【英検ライティング#11】紙の新聞の購読をやめる人が増えるか

[写真について]　カナダに滞在した半年は人生の中で一番様々な調味料に触れたときでした。ホームステイファミリーは、ご夫婦とも料理が好きな方でした。健康のこともよく考えている方で、 キッチンには質の良い、オイルや調味料がだーっと並んでいて、私も使わせていただくこともありました(≧▽≦)　

オリーブオイルの他、アボガドオイル、ココナッツオイルなどのものがありました。質がよく、値段も高いです。特に高級なアボガドオイルは、鍋に敷くオイルとして使わず、サラダにかけたりして使うそうです。
サラダ油やキャノーラ油が良くない理由も聞きました！

また、日本に帰国される方から、たくさんの調味料をいただきました。
写真はまさにこの時にいただいたものです。酢(ビネガー)の種類たくさんあることにもびっくり。日本はお米の酢が主流だと思うのですが？？、麦の酢、果物の酢いろいろあって、酸っぱくないものもありました。

写真に写っている、メープルシロップ。楓の形の容器が素敵ですよね。よくパンやホットケーキ、シリアル＆ヨーグルトにかけて食べていました！！恋しくて、日本に帰る際にも小さいものを持ち帰ったなあ。

【ライティング】
今日はいつものボスニア・ヘルツェゴビナの先生がお休みなので、
ジンバブエの先生にみていただきました。
　
やはり先生によって、使う英語の単語の傾向が違う。そりゃあそうだよなと思いつつ、おもしろい。
　
今日は、Given thatというifに当たる言い回しを教えてもらった。これは、口語でも使うのだそうだけど私は初めて聞いた。単語帳ででてきた、provided も同じだそう。

ifみたいに使う場合もあるけど、違う意味でも使うみたい。
後で復習する。
