星の王子さま 読書日記【マイENGLISHジャーニー】

　

　星の王子さまってどんな本かな？かなり有名だけど、私は初めて読みました。7回くらい読んだけど、いまだミステリアスが残る本。セリフを覚えたいくらいよい本。英語で話しました。（日本語字幕、概要欄にスクリプトあり）https://youtu.be/SCC3zcEeuRs　私は、砂漠の毒蛇は王子様が家に帰ることを手助けしたのであり、王子さまは死んでいないと考えている。でも、カトリック過程で育った友人が言うには、キリスト教では蛇は人をたぶらかす生き物で、聖書でもアダムとイブが騙されている。また、キリスト教文化の根付いた地域に住んでいたら、教えに沿った物語を書いても、教えに反した物語を書いても、いずれにしてもキリスト教の影響を受けているということだよね、と。私が思っていたより、ずっとキリスト教の影響は人々の考えや生活に深く影響を及ぼしているんだな。キリスト教をそんなに信じていない場合でさえも。

　　英語学習者が初めて読む洋書としていつもお勧めにあがる本。読みやすくて面白い本であると聞いたから。 　最初に読んだ時からストーリーに魅力を感じ、これまで6度は通読した。感想を書くことを試みたのは秋頃。でも、ストーリー展開が理解できない箇所が複数あり、物語の主題がはっきりつかめずにいた。

　　今年になって、ふとキリスト教の考え方なのかも？と思い、キリスト教の考え方を想像しながら読み進めると、初めて、読んでしっくりくる感じがあった。 　カトリックの家庭で育った友人に聞いてみた。彼は、私の予想は多分違うかなって！彼が受けた物語の印象はユニーク。この話が、子供たち向けではないというのは私と同じだけれど、その理由は、これは子どもの自殺の話だって！

●あらすじ

１．誰が何をしているのか サハラ砂漠に不時着したパイロットが、生死に関わる危機の中で別の惑星から来た王子と出会い、友情を結んでいく。

２．原因と事件の内容 パイロットは王子から彼の旅での経験を聞く中で、人生にとって大切なものに気づき、自身が大切にしていたものを思い出していく。

３．事件の結末 2人は掛け替えのない友情を結ぶが、王子の決意は固く、痛みを伴う方法で星に帰る。パイロットは心友を失い失意に沈むが、時を経て、目に見える存在としての王子はそばにいないが、目に見えない確かな友情が心にあることに気づく。大切なものは目に見えない。

　　In Japan, The Little Prince is one of the most well-known English books. Everyone knows the name, though I don't think, Actually, most of them have read it yet. I haven't read the book in Japanese either. I chose the book to read because I'd heard it's often recommended as the first English book to read for English beginners, and the story sounded intriguing.

　　Three years ago, I read it for the first time, and it was an impressive story. I read it about six times by the end of last year. I tried to write my impression of the book last autumn, but then I realized I couldn't understand what the main theme of it was.

　　During the winter holidays, I guessed that it was difficult because they were based on some Christian ideas. I asked my friend, who was raised in a Catholic family. He told me that my assumption was probably wrong! He got a unique impression of it. He thinks the story's not for kids, as I think, but it's because the story is about the suicide of a child!

　　In my opinion, the poisonous snake in the desert helped the little prince go home, and the prince didn't die. However, my friend told me that in Christianity, snakes are evil creatures who entice humans, as Adam and Eve were. He said that when you are affected by Christian culture, whether you write a story following the idea or something against it, you are influenced by Christianity.

　　I understand that the influence of Christianity on people's ideas and, eventually, their lives is profound, even if they do not believe in it.

🐾Story summary

1. A pilot who got into an accident and landed in the Sahara desert encountered a little prince from another planet and got to know each other.

2. Listening to the little prince's experiences on his trip over planets, the pilot noticed what is important in life and recalled the things that he liked and cherished when he was a small kid.

3. Through a harsh experience in the desert, they made an unforgettable friendship, but the prince's determination was so strong that he went back to his planet in a painful way. The pilot was disheartened by the shock of losing his best friend. After years passed, he understood that, though the little prince was not with him in a visible form, a certain friendship with him was in his heart. Anything important is invisible.
