It’s been a wild ride in the cryptocurrency world over the past few years. From Bitcoin’s surge in 2017 to the recent FTX catastrophe, there has been no shortage of drama and intrigue. As a retail investor and trader, I have learned a few valuable lessons while in the crypto world. Let me share four of those lessons with you.

This is something that crypto is demonstrating again and again. The cryptocurrency market is incredibly volatile, with investors’ emotions continuously swinging between FOMO (“Fear of Missing Out”) and FUD (“Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt”).

In the fall of 2021, everyone was convinced that Bitcoin, which has reached an all-time high of almost $70,000, would never fall back to $30,000. Many ‘influencers’ went out of their way on YouTube: “Buy while you still can! One bitcoin will cost $100,000 before you know it!”. This caused many private investors to invest much more than they could afford to lose ‘before it was too late.’
