【要約】
Visa is one of the most recognized brands in the world, and a long-time partner of women’s football. It is an official partner of the Women’s World Cup being held right now in Australia and New Zealand, two of which are among the most advanced when it comes to cashless transactions. Visa is offering digital prepaid cards to make all the events cashless in and outside the stadiums.

In the interview, Visa’s Chief Management Officer, Frank Cooper, was asked about what they have learned from this experience and about if they have any plan to roll out this experience at the Paris Olympics.

According to Frank Cooper, they could take steady marches toward cashless transactions because Australia and New Zealand are already off the charts in terms of cashless payments. 99% of Australians and 96% of New Zealanders like cashless when they’re face-to-face. Visa found that fans are benefitting from cashless transactions. They could see shorter queues, they could see less friction in the payment process, and they could have more security. Visa has invested over $10 billion in security. As a result, they have had historic low in fraud. In addition, merchants are benefitting from secure transactions, having more transactions and more revenues.

Visa wants to deliver personalized experience to fans based on their preferences as well as convenient experiences. They plan to expand this not only at the Paris Olympics and Paralympics, but also at the NFL in the fall and the men’s World Cup in 2026.

The interviewer likes Visa’s innovation in trying to link the Visa Player of the Match to grants awarded to women-only small businesses. Visa did this because they recognize that there is a correlation between sports and success outside of sports. In fact, 96% of women in the C-suite and over 80% of women small business owners said that sports have played a critical role in their success. Visa is looking to expand this relationship by attaching the Player of the Match award to a woman small-business owner in their home country.
