≪偏差値35から東大合格」は現実だ！「ドラゴン桜2」編集担当の西岡壱誠さん、広島で実体験語る≫「偏差値35から東大合格」の真実と幻想

「ビリギャル」もそうだけど遊び惚けて偏差値３５と、死ぬほどやって偏差値３５は違う。一般の生徒が受ける模試の偏差値３５と、東大模試の偏差値３５は全く違う。ただの誇大広告。
「偏差値35から東大合格」が現実的であるかどうかについての議論は激しく、西岡壱誠氏が広島での実体験をもとに語ったエピソードは注目されています。しかし「ドラゴン桜2」の編集担当である西岡氏が述べるような例外的なケースは一般的ではない。
 
　自分の周囲に、一般的な模試で偏差値３５だったのに東大に合格した人はみえますか？
 
　一般の生徒が受ける模試の偏差値35と、東大模試の偏差値35は異なる基準で評価されます。東大模試は通常、入試の難易度に合わせて設定され、厳しい競争が繰り広げられます。一方で、一般の模試は多様な生徒が受験し、その結果が偏差値として算出されます。このため、同じ偏差値でも難易度が異なり、比較することは意味がない。
 
　例外的なケースとして西岡氏の実体験があることは否定しません。特定の人物が特異な状況で逆転合格することはあるかもしれません。しかし、それは例外的な事例であり、一般的な生徒にとっては信じるべき指針とはなりません。
 
　マンガやドラマをヒットさせるための主張と受け取るのが良いです。

　Do you see anyone around you who passed the University of Tokyo despite having a deviation score of 35 on a standardized test?

　A deviation of 35 on the mock exam for general students and a deviation of 35 on the University of Tokyo mock exam are evaluated based on different standards. The University of Tokyo mock examinations are usually set according to the difficulty level of the entrance examinations, and competition is fierce. On the other hand, general mock examinations are taken by a wide variety of students, and the results are calculated as a deviation score. For this reason, even the same deviation value has different difficulty levels, and comparisons are meaningless.

　We do not deny that an exceptional case is Mr. Nishioka's actual experience. It may happen that a particular person passes the exam in reverse under unique circumstances. However, that is an exceptional case and not a guideline for the average student to believe in.
　It is better to take it as an argument for a hit manga or drama.
