Day 281: Shibire
Sting, numbness, tingling,,, there are some ways to express the taste of Shibire.
I love Sansho, that is zanthoxyli fructus, of which taste is stingy, brings numbness and makes your tongue tingling....
I suppose a certain amount of people in the West that have never tasted this would say this is abysmal spice.
Freshly cooked Sansho-konbu was abysmal tingling!
