Day 118 : Ramen

We all love Ramen here in Japan.
And our love has been propagating to many countries.

This guy of front picture is a famous Ramen lover who writes his blog on Ramen in English.

I really love this blog and sometimes refer to when I need a guidance to find out the latest good places to eat Ramen.

He sometimes is cited by some medium.

Thanks to the Ramen lovers expanding just like Brian, You could find Ramen restaurants in any of the big cities in the world.

Whenever I go to these places in the world, people usually talk during eating.
Of course, that's what the socializing by lunch or dinner is.

But, I found something different in these Ramen places outside of Japan.
When we go to Ramen restaurant, we do not really talk... even when we go there with group.

That is because we hate the noodles becoming limp.

But, especially in the Western countries, while they eat with groups, they always chat. And when they talk they usually hoist the noodles and stay that style just like Brian of this front picture for quite a while.

That's what we Japanese don't do so because we hate the noodles becoming colder...

But I am not saying that the way they do in the Western countries are bad.

That is the cultural difference, and we need to be aware of the difference and respect it.

By the way, Brian in this article is eating a hot and spicy ramen in Kanda.

The word of the day:

Quote of the day:
The most useful information on CNN is when Anthony Bourdain tells me where to eat noodles.
