あなたの人生に必要な存在は誰、または何ですか？
Who or what do you need in your life?

私の人生にも必要不可欠な人がいて、ものもありますが、その中の一つは、動物。
Some people and some things are necessary for me, and one of them is animals.

家族 〜 Family 〜

特に、わんちゃんは、私がうまれたときすでにお家にいたので、家族という認識がとても強い。
Especially, I recognize dogs as my family members.

彼は、大きくて優しい、お兄ちゃんでした。
My parents had had the first dog before I was born, so he was my kind big brother.

その後きてくれたのは、熊のような愛らしい弟。
And, 10 years later from then, a bear-like adorable puppy became my little brother.

一時期、迷子だった兄弟犬がうちにいたこともありました。
We cared for two dogs for a while as well.

今は、小さいけれどパワフルで人気者な四つ足の息子がいます。
Now, I have a fur-son who is small but powerful and popular.

夫が連れてきた穏やかな陸亀ちゃんと、お姫様のような猫ちゃんも、一緒です。
I also have a peaceful turtle whom my hubby brought and a kitty who is just like a princess.

背景 〜 Background 〜

犬をはじめとした動物に、小さい頃から虜だった私。
Just as written, I have been crazy about animals since I was a baby.

憧れの人の一人に、ムツゴロウさんがいました。
たくさんの動物たちと過ごし、世界中で様々な動物と触れ合う。
動物と相思相愛なだけでなく、知識に溢れる。
Mr. Masanori Hata has been one of my role models.
He spent with lots of animals and he went all over the world to see animals.
He and animals loved each other, and he had knowledge.

テレビで「ムツゴロウとゆかいな仲間たち」が放送される度、録画して何度も何度も見た。
持っていたぬいぐるみ全てに名前をつけた。
動物が出る映画や本に、のめり込んだ。
動物園、水族館、牧場も大好き。
Every time when there were special TV programs about Mr. Hata, I recorded and watched them over and over.
I named all of my stuffed animals.
I was addicted to movies or books about animals.
I have loved zoos, aquariums, and farms.

ムツゴロウさんが天国に旅立ったと聞いて、このようなことを思い出していました。
I remembered them due to the breaking news that Mr. Hata passed away.

共存 〜 Coexistence 〜

なぜ動物が好きなのかと聞かれても、上手に言葉で説明できない。
I cannot explain well even if I am asked why I love animals.

言葉を発しない彼らと心がつながった時の喜びは、何にも変えられない。
I feel joy when animals and I understand each other, and nothing could replace it.

自然の中にいる動物たちは逞しく、美しい。
Wild animals are storing and beautiful.

私たちは、姿形は違っても、この地球に生かされているもの同士。
We look different, but we are all living on the Earth.

どちらが強いとか弱いとかではなく、共存できる世界に生きたい。
そのために私は、目の前の命を大切にし、たとえ小さくても、環境のためにできる行動を続ける。
Regardless of superiority or inferiority, I just wanna live the world we can coexist.
So, I celebrate each life in front of me, and I keep doing what I can do for the environment.
