New House Exhibition - 今週のハウス新譜チェック 7.25-7.26

ハウスミュージックラウンジ「秋葉原住宅」棟梁のspinn.teramotoがその年の新譜をチェックしご紹介する世界の新築ハウスの展示場、「Antenna 2020」。毎週土曜日は「いつものアーティスト・いつものレーベルの新譜チェック」、そして日曜日は「いつもと違うジャンルやアーティストを探る」という方針でチェックしています。

The master of the house music lounge "Akihabara Jutaku (Akihabara Housing, Ltd.)", spinn.teramoto, checks out and introduces the new music of the year at "Antenna 2020", an exhibition space for new house music from around the world. Every Saturday, I check out the new releases from my usual artists and labels, and on Sundays, I explore different genres and artists.

ご紹介するのは、すべて僕が実際にダウンロード購入した曲。真剣勝負で選んだ楽曲たちです。さっそくご紹介していきますよ!

I'm going to show you all the songs that I've actually downloaded and purchased. These songs were chosen in a serious competition. Let's take a look at it right away!

1. Veev - Everybody Up

シカゴの老舗ハウス系レーベル・Large musicからリリースされた、カナダ人アーティストVeevの「Everybody UP」。この強くてしなやかなベースの心地良さにすっかりはまってしまいました。

Canadian artist Veev's "Everybody UP" was released on Chicago's venerable house label Large music. I was completely hooked by the comfort of this strong, supple bass.

2. Alex Virgo - Let It Run

ロンドンを拠点に活動するDJ、Alex Virgoの「Let It Run」。90年代ハウスを思わせるベースと「ジプシー・ウーマン」を思わせるオルガンのフレーズが楽しい曲ですが、芯の強さと音像のクリアさは2020年型です。格好いい。

London-based DJ Alex Virgo's "Let It Run" is a fun song with a bass reminiscent of '90s house and the organ phrase reminiscent of "Gypsy Woman," but the core strength and clarity of the sound image are 2020 types. Cool.

3. ATFC (feat. Mia Mendez) - Not Enough

これは楽しい!　Mark Knightのレーベル、Toolroomからリリースされた、ATFCの「Not Enough」。ハウスミュージックの猥雑な魅力を鮮やかに体現したトラックに思わず笑顔になってしまう。

This is fun!　Released on Mark Knight's Toolroom, "Not Enough" by ATFC. The track vividly embodies the obscene allure of house music, and you can't help but smile at the track.

4. Kisk feat. Robert Owens - Your Face (SCSI-9 Remix)

Apparel Musicを率いるDJ Kiskが、生きる伝説のRobert Owensをフィーチャリングして自身のレーベルからリリースした「Your Face」EP。その中から、ロシアのSCSI-9がリミックスした曲が刺さった。ほの暗いディープハウスに引き込まれます。

DJ Kisk, the man behind Apparel Music, released the Your Face EP on his own label featuring living legend Robert Owens, and one of the most impressive tracks on the EP is a remix by Russian SCSI-9. It draws you into a hint of dark deep house.

5. Awen & Caiiro - Your Voice (Enoo Napa Remix)

かっけえ!　ギリシャのレーベル「MIDH」ことMadorasindahouseからリリースされた、重心の低いディープなアフロハウス。南アフリカのアーティストEnoo Napaによるリミックスが最高にクールです。

Cool!　Low center of gravity deep afro house from Greek label Madorasindahouse aka MIDH. The remix by South African artist Enoo Napa is the coolest thing ever.

6. Disco Gurls - Machines

あははこりゃいいね。スペイン・バルセロナのレーベルGuareberからリリースされた、80年代テイストをトッピングした派手で楽しいハウス。こういう曲は秒の判断で買ってしまいがち。

Haha, this is good. Flashy, fun house with a topping of 80's flavor, released on Barcelona, Spain's Guareber label. I tend to buy songs like this based on instant decisions.

【This Week's 1-pick】Awen & Caiiro - Your Voice (Enoo Napa Remix)

今週の1曲はこの曲に決めました。6/13-6/14の新譜チェック記事で紹介したモザンビークのGiluuといい、この曲のリミックスをてがけた南アフリカのEnoo Napaといい、アフリカのアーティストが手がけるトラックがだんだん目立ってくるようになりました。

アメリカにはじまりヨーロッパに飛び火し、アジアで作られ、南米で作られ、ロシアや東欧のアーティストが参加し、ついにアフリカのアーティストも素晴らしいハウスミュージックを生み出すようになってきました。これからの時代がますます楽しみです。

I've decided to pick this one as my song of the week. With Giluu from Mozambique, whom I mentioned in my June 13-14 new music review article, and Enoo Napa from South Africa, who remixed this song, African artists are becoming more and more prominent in the house music scene. 

It started in the United States, then spread to Europe, then Asia, then South America, then Russia and Eastern Europe, and finally, African artists are starting to produce great house music. I'm looking forward to the future even more.
