消えた中学校用教科書の謎

『あの病気』が流行り始める前、市立図書館に毎月数回程度、通っていた。
その図書館には、中学校用の教科書が置いてあった。
各教科について、おそらく市内の中学校で使われている教科書以外の、他の出版社から出ている教科書も置いてあった。
何回か通って読んでいたが、突然、各教科について１社の教科書だけになってしまった。
図書館のウェブサイトで検索しても他社の教科書は出てこなくなった。

図書館員になぜそれらが無くなったのかは聞かなかった。

誰がそのような撤去の指示をしたのか。
私にとって、後味の悪い事件であった。

ただし、公正を期するために付け加えると、前に住んでいた市の図書館にも、今住んでいる県の県立図書館にも、中学校用教科書は全くおいていない。一種類であれ少なくとも中学校用教科書を置いてあるという点では、この市立図書館はほかの図書館よりも優れている。

Where have all the textbooks gone?

Before "That Disease" became popular, I used to go to the city library several times a month.
The library had textbooks for junior high schools.
For each subject, the library had textbooks from other publishers other than those probably used in junior high schools in the city.
I used to go there several times to read them, but all of a sudden there was only one publisher's textbook for each subject.
A search on the library's website did not turn up any textbooks from other publishers.

I did not ask the librarian why they had disappeared.

Who gave the order for such a removal?
For me, it was an incident that left a bad aftertaste.

To be fair, I should add that neither the library in the city where I used to live nor the prefectural library in the prefecture where I live now have any junior high school textbooks. This city library is superior to the others in that it has at least one type of junior high school textbook.
