Ingress Kythera K's View in Campfire

Kytheraアノマリーについては以下を参照のこと。

1: Chain Reaction

You are standing on the side of a road before an 8-meter-tall monument. There is a Portal here. The plaque reads: "This is a statement of peace. May it never become an epitaph." Unfortunately for you, it is now 100 seconds to midnight. You weren't able to save your world, but maybe you still have time to save this one.

Go right.  Go to paragraph 3.
Go left.  Go to paragraph 2.

2: Zoltar in Santa Monica Pier

You decide to go left, but you're not really sure why. You know this isn't where you needed to be, but something compelled you to walk here anyway. As you approach, Zoltar speaks: "A new turn of events will come about. A happy reunion with a loved one will make life all that you ever wanted it or dreamed it to be." Bad robot.

Turn around. Go to paragraph 3.

3: METRO Downtown Santa Monica St.

Right as rain. You tap your Scanner to the reader, then walk up the steps to board the Expo Line. The train is practically empty; meanwhile, the streets are congested with traffic.

Get off in 7 stops.  Go to paragraph 5.
Get off in 13.  Go to paragraph 4.

4: Dinosaurs at Natural History Museum

You get off at Vermont and enter the Natural History Museum. Past the dinosaurs and the fossils and the gems, you stop at a glass display featuring the great auk. It's beautiful. A small sign explains that by 1844, only two were left, strangled to death for their value. It reminds you why you're here: to warn Agents not to make the same mistakes you did. Those who forget their history are condemned to repeat it. It's time to move.

5: Museum of Jurassic Technology

You get off at Culver City, then walk to the Museum of Jurassic Technology. The door is marked, "PRIVATE" but you enter anyway. Once inside, you pause in front of the exhibit titled, "No One May Ever Have the Same Knowledge Again."

Explore the exhibit.  Go to paragraph 6.
Go to the rooftop garden.  Go to paragraph 7.

(*) "No One May Ever Have The Same Knowledge Again": Letters to Mount Wilson Observatory 1915-1935

6:  Letter From W. Charles Lamb

You enter the exhibit, all the while thinking about recursion. This exhibit, this whole museum, highlights the fragility of our shared beliefs. Maybe what the Kureze Effect shows you is that it doesn't actually matter what version of events is true, and instead it's what version of events is more popular. There it is again. That sinking feeling.

Go to the rooftop garden.  Go to paragraph 7.

(*) Ezekiel 10:9 (King James Version)
9 And when I looked, behold the four wheels by the cherubims, one wheel by one cherub, and another wheel by another cherub: and the appearance of the wheels was as the colour of a beryl stone.

7: The Tula Tea Room

You walk upstairs and step into a sun soaked rooftop garden. "The Tula Tea Room serves visitors complimentary Georgian Black Tea and cookies." It's peaceful, you hear doves cooing nearby, but there's something unsettling about all of this. It's that same feeling you had when you first read The Berenstain Bears, and learned Sinbad never played the genie Shazaam. In the back corner, you spot a familiar face in the shadows, wearing a black fedora.

Ask to join them.  Go to paragraph 8.
Run.  Go to paragraph 9.

8: The Tula Tea Room

They don't answer, but you take a seat across from them anyway. You're just glad to see a familiar face. You glance down at their phone resting on the table, and it's flashing a complex glyph sequence on a loop. You look up and immediately recognize that blank, unfocused gaze. Your eyes dart back to the Tea Room doorway but it's too late now. You're burned. "It's about time. I was beginning to think you didn't like me."

Start over.  Go to paragraph 1.

9: 7th Street/Metro Center - Julian Dixon

You sprint down the stairs, out the doors, and back to the Metro. You look back to make sure you aren't being followed. There. On the corner. The man in black. You aren't sure if they're hacking or texting. You board the train and take it to the last stop. You don't understand what's happening, but something keeps pulling you forward, like an invisible hand.

Run.  Go to paragraph 10.

10: The Last Bookstore

You hurry past Pershing Square and duck into the bookstore. You need to get your head straight, and there's something satisfying about physical, tangible, real books. "It's about time." You pick up an old copy of, "Who Killed Harlowe Thrombey?" and start to thumb through it. On Page 1 in all caps it says, "WARNING!!!!" Not many books come with explicit warnings, but there are a lot of cautionary tales. The sinking feeling is back.

Run.  Go to paragraph 11.

11: Arthur J. Will Memorial Fountain

You're back on the move again, but you don't want to keep running. You try to stop, you try to put your foot down, you try to turn back. You sniffle and touch your nose. Your nose is bleeding. Something compels you to keep moving forward, and whatever it is, it hasn't steered you wrong so far. Has it? You aren't asking for much. You just want the freedom to choose.

Run.  Go to paragraph 12.
Run.  Go to paragraph 12.

12: Triforium

You keep running. It's not like you had a choice.

Run.  Go to paragraph 13.

13: Union Station 01

I... I think I understand now. It's you. It has always been you. You are behind this. You were always behind this. And you will always be behind this. That's what you meant when you said, "It's about time." It's about time. Time. Or, maybe not. Maybe this time we can change things. Maybe this time we can stop what's coming. I'm good with maybes. Maybes mean there's hope. Maybes mean we have a chance. And I will forever be an optimist. Until next time.

Start over.  Go to paragraph 1.
