静岡の本山茶に関係する場所です。安倍川沿いの朝倉家屋敷跡を訪れました。

柿島の朝倉家

Historical documents state that Lord Tokugawa Ieyasu favored tea leaves cultivated along the Abe River.

歴史書によると、徳川家康公は安倍川沿いで収穫されたお茶を好んでいました。

The tea leaves picked out that year was processed and stored in his special pods for maturation.

その年に採れた茶葉は加工され、熟成させるために特別な壺に入れて保管されました。

22年5月28日「茶詰めの儀」より（ＪＲ静岡駅北口地下広場にて）

The pods were kept in his storehouse located in Dainichi Pass, with an altitude of 1200 meters.

その壺は標高1200メートルの大日峠にある蔵に置かれました。

Not only the tea leaves but also the pods themselves were so precious.

茶葉だけでなく、その壺自体もとても高価で貴重なものでした。

So, the storehouse was strictly guarded and managed by local powerful samurai.

ですから、その蔵は地元の有力な武士によって警備、管理されました。

They were Unno family in Ikawa and Asakura family in Kakishima.

その武士たちが井川の海野家と柿島の朝倉家でした。

According to a traditional story, the Asakura family in Sumpu shares the same root as the Asakura family in Ichijodani.

一説によると、駿府の朝倉家は一乗谷の朝倉家と同じルーツを持つと言われています。

Oda Nobunaga and Tokugawa Ieyasu defeated the powerful Asakura family in Ichijodani (the present-day Fukui).

織田信長と徳川家康は一乗谷（現在の福井）の朝倉家を破りました。（1570年姉川の戦い。これが一乗谷朝倉家の滅亡の始まりとなる）

Asakura family in Kakishima, Sumpu was a prestigious clan in the northern region of the Abe River along with the Unno family in the Edo period.

駿府、柿島の朝倉家は江戸時代、海野家と並び、安倍川北部地域における名門の家族でした。

In the present-day, the ruins of the Asakura family palace is located in Kakishima, a mountainous area in Aoi Ward, Shizuoka City.

現在、朝倉家の屋敷跡が静岡市葵区の山間の地区である、柿島にあります。

Today, the place is tea fields, but traces of their ruins can be seen.

今日、その場所はお茶畑です。しかしその跡を見て取れます。

石垣でここが屋敷跡だったと分かる

The big-scale flat place supported by stone bases tells how large their palace was and how powerful they were.

石で作られた基礎がある広い平らな土地を見ると、その屋敷がいかに大きく、彼らが有力であったかを知ることができます。

Their graveyards can also be seen near the ruins of their palace.

朝倉家のお墓が屋敷跡の近くで見られます。

The gravestones are kept so clean.

そのお墓はきれいにされています。

According to a local farmer, the present Asakura family’s descendants come there to clean the gravestones every month.

地元の農家の方によると、現在の朝倉家のご子孫が毎月お墓をきれいにするために、その場所に来ていると言うことです。
