Diary 30/05/24

Yesterday, I went to a job interview to explore changing my career so that I can stay here longer. They were looking for a new chef. I don't have experience working as a chef, but I thought that if I took the job, I could apply for a work visa again. After obtaining the visa, I might be able to change workplaces since I would have the necessary skills. However, I'm not sure if I like cooking or not, so I attended the interview to learn more about the job.

The owner was a nice person. Although he has a Japanese name, he was born and raised in the UK and still speaks Japanese very well, though sometimes it was a bit difficult to understand him. The reason I applied for the job is that they can sponsor my visa if I work there for six months. If true, it would be a great opportunity for me. However, they have never sponsored anyone before, so they didn't seem very knowledgeable about the process. To be honest, I felt a bit anxious about it, so I will continue working at my current job for now. After I return from my holiday, I will start working at the reception. I hope to learn new things and gain more flexibility through this role.
