Malaysia

18th

  • flight from Haneda

    • I was very sleepy.

    • I arrived at the Haneda airport and met Japanese friends. One of them is from the same high school. I’m happy to see her again!

    • Having had a lot of concerns about baggage, I finally got on an airplane somehow. I think I’ll never be used to traveling abroad.

    • It was my first time using Singapore Airlines. The costume was beautiful!

    • Happy news; I could refuse ice cream! lol (I don’t like vanilla ice cream, so I have to say no thank you, but I forgot every time.)

  • Transit Singapore

    • I wish I had more time to walk around the airport!

    • How quick I felt the flight time was after the long(?) flight from Haneda to Singapore.

  • Finally KL airport!

    • I was surprised that there were a lot of Japanese words in the airport.

    • I got very tired due to the long flight.

    • There were several Japanese food restaurants and convenience stores, such as Sukiya, Family Mart, and Seven-Eleven. Few of them were authentic lol.

    • We ate a fried rice set. Much cheaper than the one in Japan.

    • It was my first time to stay in a カプセルホテル. I liked it. I guess it’s tough for me to stay for several days, but it’s cheap and exciting.

19th

  • airport

    • ate an onigiri I bought at Family Mart. Nori was authentic, I think.

    • I got SIM. big relief

    • The airport was so large that I nearly got lost. lol

    • First time to get on train. I thought it bothersome that I had to buy a ticket by cash or get a specific card, but soon realized it was the same in Japan.

    • Nothing except for smartphones tells me what time the next train will come?

  • Residence

    • Arrived residence and bought lunch at a subway

    • Happy to see one of my friends from club activity again! She's from a different university, but we'll study together here.

    • Agents explained to us how to live. They said that there was 雨漏れ and they told the owner to repair it, but he/she hadn't responded 😂

  • Heatstroke

    • I suffered from heatstroke

    • I should have prepared for this, bringing more water and something to eat.

    • The cause is that I didn't take enough food and water. It's not because of the temperature. It's hot, but less humid than in Japan, so much more comfortable!

20th

  • Heatstroke

    • While I was in my bedroom, I was considering my future. This is one of my purposes for this exchange program.

  • Module registration

    • First come, first served!? I started registration on time, but took only three courses successfully 😞

    • Some courses offer only five seats

    • But I think the process is much more simple and easier than that of Hitotsubashi, the one so complicated for exchange students, even for us

  • Shopping in a supermarket

    • There are many Japanese foods. Even Japanese area. I bought natto so that I can prepare for being sick again

21th

  • Medical test

    • My friend and I tried to take a medical test, but the nearest hospital was full. And for a reason, we went to Kl Sentral to buy a new pair of glasses. We got tired because we couldn't find a store that offered the letters we needed for the hospital.

  • KL Sentral

    • Thai food for lunch. So hot. It was delicious but I'll never eat

    • Big moll! Fun!

    • ハーゲンダッツ has seats for eating

    • We bought a pan at Nitori. The only Japanese explanation is unfriendly

    • ドンキ=情熱?

    • Got tired after walking around, so we took a break at home

22nd

  • Medical test

    • My first time using Grab by myself. A bit scary.

    • I panicked when told that the medical test was unavailable on Sunday.  Even though the official website says it's available!タクシー代返して笑 I asked him whether other hospitals offer tests on Sunday, and he said no would probably be open. I was sad because if that was true, I have to take tests the next day, which meant I couldn’t attend the first day of the welcome week. Then, I called another hospital and asked them whether I could take tests, and they said they were open. lol. But they told me to come at 3 pm cause there were already many students. I didn’t have time to go back home, so I decided to go to the hospital directly and spend time there.

    • I couldn’t get on bus cause I hadn’t bought a card for it, I had to walk to the nearest station from the first hospital for about 30 minitues!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! During that, I enjoyed seeing houses which were a bit different from those near the uni and my home.

    • At the station, I didn’t get which platform I should go, so I asked a women near me. She taught me so kindly! People I met here are so kind.

    • Finally I arrived at the hospital. Although they told me to come 3 pm, for some reasons, I could start the registration soon after my arrival. The rest room was dirty. It was m first time to collect blood, so I was a bit anxicious, thinking whether I would feel dizzy.

    • And after I received a document and was ready for going back, other exchange students mentioned above talked to me. I want to talk to others like her.

    • changed a train. asked by a women how to withdraw cash. Why do u ask me??

  • cooking with roommates

    • We cooked fried rice. It was a bit difficult to cook jasmine rice, but it was delicious. I did almost nothing. I want to improve my cooking skills.
