無始以来つくりと

【解説】
　　
今回は「私たちが、始まりの無い始まり（無始）から今まで、えんえんと作ってきた悪業煩悩」という内容です。
　
この文の前後は、
　
「信心獲得すといふは第十八の願をこころうるなり（中略）無始以来つくりとつくる悪業煩悩を、のこるところもなく願力不思議をもつて消滅するいはれあるがゆゑに、正定聚不退の位に住すとなり」
　
となります。
　
信心獲得するとは第十八願をこころうることであり、えんえんと作ってきた悪業煩悩は消滅することになる。ゆえに、往生成仏することが正しく定まった位（正定聚）にあるというのだ。
　
つまり、本願疑惑心（疑蓋）を除かれた念仏者＝信心獲得した念仏者は、たとえ罪悪をつくってきたとしてもそれが救いの妨げにはならず、極楽に生まれて仏に成るのが定まった身である、ということです。
　
法然聖人の『選択集』に、
　
「生死の家には疑をもって所止とし、涅槃の城には信をもって能入とす」
　
とあります。
　
浄土真宗においても浄土宗においても、信疑が重要ポイントになるのは、それが念仏者の往生成仏を決するところだからです。ここを信疑決判といいます。
