【解説】
　
今回は「還相回向とは、自在に衆生を導き救える地位を恵まれることである」という内容です。
　
　
文中に「教化地」という言葉が出てきます。
　
これは菩薩の高い段階のことで、衆生を自在に教化し救える地位のことです。
　
　
教化といえば、『教行信証』に引用された『浄土論註』の
　
「還相とは、かの土に生じをはりて、奢摩他・毘婆舎那・方便力成就することを得て、生死の稠林に回入して、一切衆生を教化して、ともに仏道に向かへしむるなり」
　
という文章があります。
　
還相とはすべての衆生を教化して、ともに仏道に向かわせることだというのです。
　
まだ迷っている他の衆生に働きかけ導くわけですね。
　
　
そしてこの還相回向が何のためにあるのかといえば、『教行信証』では
　
「もしは往、もしは還、みな衆生を抜いて生死海を度せんがためなり」
　
という文章が続きます。
　
往相回向も還相回向も、衆生を六道輪廻の苦界から救い出すためである、と。
　
　
言い換えれば、阿弥陀仏の本願が建てられた目的は、すべての衆生を輪廻の苦界から救い尽くすためだということです。
