カナダでシェアハウスを探した時にしたことの、備忘録です。

①シェアハウス情報を入手

まずはシェアハウスの情報を手に入れなければ始まりません。

私は日本人とシェアしたかったため、日本人がよく使っているe-mapleをメインに使いました。

それ以外だと、英語対応になりますが、Claigslistやkijijiを使っている人も周りには多かったです。

メールやSMSで問い合わせることが多いので、私はテンプレートを作ってとにかく送りまくっていました。

件名:Room-viewing Request

本文:
Hello,
My name is [名前].

This is my profile.
・Japanese female
・I study English at "[学校名]"
・I'm looking for a room to enter from [入居希望日]
・I"ll be in Toronto until [帰国日]

I saw your advertisement on [広告の乗っていたwebサイト], and thought it is nice.
If your room is still available, could I book an appointment for sometime this week?

I'm available
・anytime after [内見に行ける時間] on weekdays
・anytime after [内見に行ける時間] on weekends

I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

②内見

内見の約束ができた場合は、内見時に以下のことを中心に確認するようにしていました。

●家賃
What’s included in the rent?[家賃に含まれているものは何か]
Are electricity/gas/internet bill included in the bill?[電気水道ガスネット込みか]
When is the rent due every month?[家賃の支払日はいつか]
How should I pay rent?[家賃の支払い方は何か]
Can I get a recipt?[領収書もらえるか]

●退去時
How long is the minimum stay?[最低入居期間はあるか]
When should I give you a notice about moving out?[退去時はいつまでに知らせるか]

●使えるもの
Is the room furnished?[家具込みか]
Can I use kitchenware?[キッチン用品込みか]
How many times a week can I use the washing machine?[洗濯機の使用制限はあるか]

●その他諸々
Is there a time limit for a shower?[シャワーの使用制限はあるか]
Is there landly inside?[洗濯機は建物内にあるか]
Is there any rules about cleaning share areas and garbage?[共有エリアの清掃ルールはあるか]
Can I get the key?[鍵はもらえるか]
Are there any house rules?[その他なにかルールはあるか]

問い合わせへの返事があまり貰えないという噂を聞いていたので、メールの返信を面倒と思われないようにするため、メールではあまり聞かずに、内見時に確認していました。

家を決めた場合は、契約書を交わして、デポジットを払って契約です。

なかなか良い条件の家を見つけるのは大変ですが、
これから探される方の参考になれば幸いです！
