This is very important.

For any transportation in Tokyo, you need to take trains or metro. Get a prepaid transportation IC card before you take any train trips. They are called “Suica” or “Pasmo”. They are the same. You need to pay 500yen ($5 USD) for the deposit, but you will save so much time and a little bit of money to use this card. On the day you plan to use trains A LOT, then One Day Pass for 24h would be cheaper. If you only take a few trains, it will be easier to use the IC card.

Trasin transportation is so complicated in Tokyo. I strongly recommend to search for the best way to transit the trains to same time and money.

And remember; Japanese transportation stops around midnight and opens again at 5 in the morning. It depends on where you are staying, but the taxi is also an option, but expensive.

Recommended place/staions to visit;

1. Asakusa (very traditional and old town. If you go to this area, “Tokyo Sky Tree” is also recommend. The restaurant on the tower has a Fantastic view! Remember to go to the top, if you are not afraid of the height. )

2. Tokyo Disneyland/ Disneysea (1h from the central Tokyo)

3. Shibuya ( busy town for young people)

4. Harajuku (same. You can walk between Shibuya- Omote Sando - Harajuku)

5. Shinjuku (the busiest town for the officers, but a lot of god bars and shoping)

6. Akihabara (If you like Anime, manga, gadgets, this is the place to be.)

7. Imperial Palace.

8. Roppongi (for the party and clubbing all night.)

9. Sakuragi cho (Bay Marina city. I heard cruising is fun there.)

Reccomended hostels;

If you only stay in Tokyo noly for a week, I personally think it’s better to stay at one place.

1. Nui. ( super cozy fabulous backpacker’s hostel. You will need to share the room, but it is one of the best. And it’s cheap. Make sure to book a few months in advance.)

2. Nui’s sister place

3. Tokyu Hotel ( Business hotel. They have many hotels almost at each main stations. Services are stable, but boring. But if you want to book a private room, but still want to book a cheap place, this is a safe decision.)

4. Air BnB

5. Hotel.com

Super recommended for a day trip

1. Fujiyoshida for the great view of the highest mountain of Japan. 2h bus from the central station called Shinjuku. Make sure the weather is perfect at the destination. Google “Shimoyoshida”

2. Shonan (famous for the surf beach. Enoshima has pretty shrine and famous for the tourism as well.)

Drinks;

1. Omoide Yokotyo aka “Piss Alley” in Shinjuku (you can enjoy the old-fashion bar alley. It’s relatively tourist-friendly. )

2. “Golden Gai” at Shinjuku

3. Roppongi (for the party and clubbing all night. Trains stops around midnight. So be aware of your plans.)
