“Learning without god makes devils with wisdom.”

At the front gate of engineering department campus of Tamdgawa Univ, this English sentence is inscribed on the black granite, as a message to the students pursuing science fields.

These words of founder's are thought to have been left as a warning to the materialistic vision that science students easily fall into.

When you misuse your knowledge, it will be a weapon.  On the contrary, if you make effective use, it will work usefully enough.  The knowledge you get is not good or bad, so the important thing is how well to use it.

Wellington, an English military man, said,
"Educate men without religion and make them but clever devils." 
The founder understood what this meant, and told it to the students in his own words.

However, some scientists study so enthusiastically that they want to produce results at the sacrifice of themselves.  There is a fine line between great scientists and devils.

Here, T University has a scientist who sold his soul to the devil.

If the land were to run short due to over-poqulation or radioactive contamination, what would you do?  You would often say that you had better move to another planet.

Instead, the study of Professor KISHI Kimiko is to construct some pseudo space in the air.  As the first step, she has repeated her experiment to float a small island, the goal of which is to lay 'space X,' another layer of the ground, over the surface of Earth.

However, it is impossible, or beyond ability for the Earth human scientist even to lift up a tiny artificial land.  It is the very psychology of scientist that alien BELL, as a entomologist Dr. GRAHAM, is taking good advantage of.  

"Great result!  Expect you."
KIRIYA says, smiling at KISHI.
"Thank you for your compliment.  I'm honored."
KISHI feels a one-sided rivalry with KIRIYA.
"I don't think it's human work.  Sorry,"  meaningfully he says, passing each other. 
(Might have been noticed?  No way, never.)

ET radar has got a response to alien, so SOMA and AMABE patrol by HAWK 1 jet mode, flying around the top of Mt Fuji.

July and August every year, hundreds of thousands of people try the great mountain in Japan, just about half of whom estimatedly get to the top, but 10 percent reach the real highest 3776m, or Kengamine.  Its world heritage certification makes even more people its climbers, and raises some kinds of problems such as littering and bullet climbing.

"Looking at nothing special.  Beautiful!" SOMA
"Not abnormal about the crater.  Wonderful!" AMABE
Already into winter, the top is covered with first snowfall white.
"To a higher altitude." SOMA.
Unseasonal cumulonimbus clouds MYSTERIOUSLY swell to a level of 10000m, they climb up along the mount of clouds, higher and higher.  Suddenly, "Fuckin' A, unable to control!" SOMA shouts.
Dragged to gravity of space X, HAWK 1 falls into a hole on the cloud, as if a golf ball hit with a patter were sucked into.

SOMA and AMABE wake up to find HAWK 1 has landed automatically and safely on the ground.  They hear higurashis, or evening cicadas, crying outside the plane at full volumes.
"Where are we?" SOMA
"In the ocean of trees." AMABE
Getting outside, they are landed on by buzzing bunches of big black bugs.
"Bloodsuckers!" SOMA
"Bad Beetles!" AMABE
Shaking the bugs off, they return to HAWK 1.
When they get on, a spaciously sizable spider is waiting inside, emitting poisonous gas off.
The moment, SOMA shoots just the center of spider head through.

As the gas clears up, a man in white lab coat is standing there, trembling its head and shrilling off its mouth like a loudspeaker.
"Cicada is he!" SOMA
Then, alien BELL disappeared with its cry left after.
Anyway, they cannot go outside.
"It cannot be helped.  Shall we phonecall?" AMABE

KIRIYA is absent from his afternoon class for no reason, which is canceled suddenly soon.
(strange that he not come to class without saying anything.  Something must have happend to him.)

After their phonecall, FURUDA and YURI ride HAWK 3 and go searching for them.  A few minutes' flight takes him and her to Mt Fuji, but casting a careful look over the sea of trees, they cannot find HAWK 1.
"Are you really here?"
Certainly, the radar shows he and he are here.
YURI change the mode of radar from vertical to horizontal, and the same time, their marks disappear.
"That is, up or down, isn't it?" YURI
Looking up the sky, he and she see the cliff of unseasonal thunder clouds swollen and about to fall down over.
They nod at each other.

FURUDA and YURI land on the island and get outside.
She retures the radar mode to vertical,and turns wide to focus, trailing to them.
Anti-insect measures, as told, prevents bugs or spiders from approaching.
But all of sudden, plenty of MYSTERIOUS plant vines creep around and climb up, holding their bodies.
And at the root of them, a huge rafflesia, or a monster flower, with a large mouth is prepared to eat.
The instant, some flame someone fires sets them free.
It is KIRIYA.
" Are you OK?"
"Professor!  What makes you be here?"
"I seem to have been brought here."

MOROBOSHI tracks KIRIYA's footsteps from his office, which lead to Professor KISHI's laboratory. 
ET radar responds!
DAN finds KISHI and a man in white there, but he holds his head at sound waves, the band of which the alien adjusts so that he hates.
"Where is Prof KIRIYA?"
"He might have been a prey of my lovely insects."
Human and alien has disappeared by teleportation.

Instantly DAN puts on the red glasses, her laboratory, narrow room filled with bookshelves full of books turns to vast space in the fertile forest.
Sensitive to its sound as he is, he manages to avoid its beam attacks.
Each time DAN attacks, alien BELL teleports.
After repeating several times, he has got it.
When the alien disappears again, he becomes ultimately sensitive on purpose and pay ultimate attention to its origin of sound wave.
The next moment it appears again, he shoots the light night, depending just on ears.
EYE SLUGGER has solved the problem.

KIRIYA discovers HAWK 1.
"Learning without god makes devils with wisdom," KIRIYA says to himself.
"Professor, this is a devil with wisdom, isn't it?"
DAN brings Prof KISHI to front of the Youth members.
"Leave here, as fast as possible, or space X will vanish," she murmurs.
"Prof KISHI, let's go home, to our own ground," KIRIYA makes his usual smile.

"By the way, how on Earth did you come here, MOROBOSHI kun?"
"Eh?  I… I seem to have been brought here."

Those immense clouds has cleared up.
The floating island in space X begins disappearing, and reduces little by little.
