Nestled within the heart of the Swiss Alps lies a breathtaking trail that promises adventure and panoramic views. Join me on a journey as we lace up our hiking boots and traverse from Rothorn to Blauherd, immersing ourselves in the unparalleled beauty of Switzerland's majestic landscapes.
Start of the Journey
My journey started with an underground ride from Zermatt to Sunnegga.
Rothorn
Stepping off the train at Rothorn, I was at an elevation of 3,103 meters. The sight that greeted me was breathtaking - a sweeping view of the Matterhorn, one of the most iconic mountains in the world.
The Stellisee Lake
Midway through the hike, I took a detour to the Stellisee Lake, a small alpine lake that offers a perfect reflection of the Matterhorn on a calm day. It was a sight to behold and a perfect spot for a picnic.
Arrival at Blauherd
After a good day’s hike, I arrived at Blauherd, a paradise for nature lovers. With its panoramic views of the surrounding peaks and the ever-present silhouette of the Matterhorn, Blauherd was the perfect end to my hiking adventure.
