#5 Past simple (I did)

-ed

過去のことを表すpast simpleの動詞は、通常は-edの形で終わる。
●I walked around the park this morning.
●He lived in America 3 years ago.
●We stopped talking when she started crying.

しかし-edの形ではなく不規則な変化を持つ動詞も多い。
write→wrote ●We wrote messages to celebrate her wedding.
see→saw ●She saw lions in the zoo.
go→went ●They went to Kyoto on a school trip.
shut→shut ●It was windy, so I shut the window.

did -? / didn't + infinitive

【肯定文】I** enjoyed** / She saw / They went
【疑問文】Did you enjoy? / Did she see? / Did they go?
【否定文】I didn't enjoy / She didn't see **/ They **didn't go
Did **you **bake this cake by yourself? -No, I didn't.
Did the doctor tell you that you needed to take more medicine? -Yes, he did.
〇I didn't want to have dinner because I had big lunch yesterday.
〇They didn't answer the difficult question.

※以下の例文では、doが主の動詞となっている。
●What did you do on your first date with her?
●We didn't do anything.

past be (was/were)

be動詞の過去形はwas/wereになる。
【肯定文】I/he/she/it + was, we/you/they +** were**
【否定文】I/he/she/it + wasn't, we/you/they + weren't
【疑問文】was + I/he/she/it..?, were we/you/they..?
●I was hungry because there were nothing to eat.
Was it raining when you were at school?
●The  children weren't very happy because they were poor.
●I knew it wasn't my fault.
