(1) 太字部分を英訳しなさい。
言葉は必ず、誰かから習っているのであって、その人だけのユニークな部分は、ほぼゼロなのです。使う言葉も、だいたい辞書に載っているような、決まった意味のものを使うことになっているのです。文法も、他の人が分かるように言わなければならないから、特に変わったところはない。語彙も文法も、その人だけの独自なところは、まあ、ないのです。誰でも言いそうな事ばかり言っているのに、なぜ、その人独自のユニークさが現れているのだろう。
答案）
We use the words which have fixed meanings and most of them are in the dictionary. We use grammar which is not unique, so that others can understand us. Well, there is nothing unique that reflects the personality. I wonder why we can find the uniqueness of others even when we are saying just as others would say all day long.

Weを主語にするのであれば、「～になっている」のニュアンスを加えたい。be supposed to do や usually などが使える。it is usual for A to doの構文は、ネイティブにより意見が分かれるから ×
which[that] have ～ は通例 with ～ に言い換えられる。むしろ、そちらのほうが簡潔。
them が the words を指すのか fixed meanings を指すのかわからない答案なので ×

The words that we use are usually in dictionaries, and have fixed meanings.
原文）
文法も、他の人が分かるように言わなければならないから、特に変わったところはない。
答案）
We use grammar which is not unique, so that others can understand us.
添削）
関係代名詞の非制限用法を使わないと、「変わったところがある文法」が存在することになってしまう。
解答例）
As for grammar, there is also nothing particularly unique because we need to make ourselves understood.

添削）
「語彙も文法も」が抜けている。there is something [形] about ～「～にはどこか[形]なところがある」という英作文で頻出の構文を使う。there is nothing unique about both vocabulary and grammar
原文）
誰でも言いそうな事ばかり言っているのに、なぜ、その人独自のユニークさが現れているのだろう。
答案）
I wonder why we can find the uniqueness of others even when we are saying just as others would say all day long.
添削）
find the uniqueness of others は冗長。find others uniqueといえば済む話。
「ユニーク」は話し相手のことを指して言っているので、(even though) we ではなく (even though) they が正しい。
all day longは「一日中ずっと」という意味なので、「ありふれた」という意味での「誰でもいいそうなこと」とはニュアンスを表現しきれていない。
解答例）
I wonder why we may find others unique even when they are saying what is so common[ordinary] that anyone can say it.

(2) 朝刊が休みの日は手持ち無沙汰だ。いつもは慌ただしい朝の時間が特に長く感じられる。しかし、朝のコーヒーを楽しみ、駅まで歩くことができるのはこの日だけだ。休刊日もまんざら捨てたものではないかもしれない。
答案）
I have nothing to do in press holidays. I feel busy and long morning time much longer than that of usual. However, only on these days can I enjoy morning coffee and walk to the station. Press holidays are not quite bad.
原文）
朝刊が休みの日は手持ち無沙汰だ。
答案）
I have nothing to do in press holidays.
添削）
press holidayは「休刊日」という意味。「朝刊が休みの日」とはまた微妙に違う。
解答例）
I have nothing to do when morning newspapers are not issued.
原文）
いつもは慌ただしい朝の時間が特に長く感じられる。
答案）
I feel busy and long morning time much longer than that of usual.
添削）
than usual という成句表現があるので、それを使えばいい。
解答例）
I feel everyday busy morning time especially longer than usual.
原文）
しかし、朝のコーヒーを楽しみ、駅まで歩くことができるのはこの日だけだ。
答案）
However, only on these days can I enjoy morning coffee and walk to the station.
添削）
倒置を使うことで、意味内容以上の原文のニュアンスをよく表現できている。倒置ではなく強調構文を使ってもOK。it is on these days that[when] I can enjoy[savor] morning coffee and walk to the station.
原文）
休刊日もまんざら捨てたものではないかもしれない。
答案）
Press holidays may not be not quite bad.
添削）
この部分は、原文の日本語が矛盾しているので、訳出に困るかもしれない。すなわち、「朝刊が休みの日は手持ち無沙汰だ」と言いながら、「休刊日もまんざら捨てたものではないかもしれない」と締めくくっている。この微妙なニュアンスを部分否定の not quite で表せていていい。
解答例）
You can enjoy other than reading morning newspapers on press holidays.
コメント）
原文をもう少し噛み砕いて、「休刊日は休刊日で、朝刊を読む以外の楽しめることがあるのかもしれない」と考えて訳出してみた。少し原文からは離れた訳になってしまうが、できあがった英訳の流れ（文同士の結束性）を考えると、むしろこちらのほうが自然。

好きなことがたくさんあればあるほど，楽しみが多い。これといって好きなことがない人は，どんなにか手持ちぶさたでつまらないことだろう。
