1. agreeを副詞で修飾する
I totally［fully, completely］agree.
まったく同意します．
I partially［basically, somewhat］agree.
部分的に［基本的には，いくぶんかは］賛成です．
私も(それについては)まったく賛成です
I quite agree (about that).
2. agreeを仮定法と比較級で用いる
I couldn’t agree with you more.
（これ以上賛成のしようがないくらい）まったく同感です．
あなたの考えに全面的に賛成します
I totally agree with you.
I couldn’t agree with you more.
私も(それについては)まったく賛成です
I quite agree [I couldn’t agree more] (about that).
3. agree to の後ろに動名詞を続ける
太郎の両親は彼が花子と結婚することに賛成した
Taro’s parents have agreed to his marrying Hanako [that he will marry Hanako].
4. accept, support, favor, approve of, go along with, for(/against), in favor of を用いる
私は彼の提案にすぐ賛成した
I accepted his proposal at once.
私は日本人は働きすぎだという考えに賛成できない
I can’t support[accept] the idea that Japanese people work too much.
(I don’t like the idea …. のようにいう方が口語的)
彼は死刑制度廃止に賛成している
He supports the abolition of [is in favor of abolishing］the death penalty.
スポーツで重要なのは勝つことだけという意見に賛成[反対]だ
I am for [against] the opinion that winning is all that matters in sports.
(I am for [against] … (私は…に賛成[反対]だ)は賛成・不賛成を表すディスコースマーカー)
I’m for［in favor of］protecting animals.
動物保護に賛成です．
彼は男女同権に賛成している
He favors[is in favor of] equal rights for men and women.
工場誘致に賛成ですか，反対ですか
Are you for or against promoting industrial development?
「あなたは彼の言うことに賛成ですか反対ですか」「大賛成です」
“Are you for him or against him?” “I’m all for him[his idea].”
若者がボランティア活動に参加することには大いに賛成だ
I am totally for young people participating in volunteer activities.
