スイス人フォトグラファーの友達が、焼杉の技術について知りたがっています。基本的な勉強はしてるようなんですが、リアルに焼杉に関わってる方の体験を聞きたいみたいなんです。

A friend of mine, who lives in Switzerland, would like to build an ecological wooden tiny house using the art of Yakisugi for the walls and possibly also the roof. Facade Board Direction: Horizontal or Vertical? Or unimportant?
How are the boards connected to each other? Longitudinal profile, groove-comb (tongue-and-groove), or others?
What thickness are the boards? Any minimum thickness to take into consideration?
How strong are the boards burned?
Are the boards also burnt on the back? If yes, same as in the front or less?
Is there tension in the boards after burning? How to deal with it?
How are the boards attached to the house? Nails, screws, others?
Do you have to pay attention to the annual rings? Standing or lying down?
I assume the boards are lightly brushed after firing. Will additional materials be applied to the surface, such as oils, waxes, or similar?
Can I learn something about the long-term effects? For example, what does the facade look like after 10/20/30 years?
How are the facades maintained and cared for? Possibly afterburn or treated with Oil/Wax?
