英語プレゼンテーション力UP！棒グラフ表現をマスターしよう
はじめに
私は3年間レアジョブ英会話を続けています。
私たちの英語学習の中で特に難しいと感じる部分は何でしょうか？私の場合、それはグラフを使ったグラフィックプレゼンテーションです。
そのため、今日は棒グラフを使ったプレゼンテーションの対策として役に立ちそうな英単語とフレーズを皆さんと共有したいと思います。
【基本的な単語】
Bar graph or Bar chart: 棒グラフ
Axis: 軸
X-axis: X軸
Y-axis: Y軸
Label: ラベル

Horizontal bar chart: 横棒グラフ
Vertical bar chart: 縦棒グラフ

プレゼン例
A国、B国に支店 があり 2010年から2015年までの売上を横軸に取ります 各年にはA国B国の売り上げを比較して置いてあります。縦軸にはそれぞれの利益が書いてあります そういったグラフをプレゼンする時の言い方
"Good afternoon everyone, today I'd like to discuss our sales and profit data from 2010 to 2015 for our branches in country A and B. Please turn your attention to this bar chart on the screen."
「皆さん、こんにちは。今日は2010年から2015年までのA国とB国の支店における売上と利益データについてお話しします。まずはスクリーンのこの棒グラフにご注目ください。」
"In this bar chart, the horizontal axis, or x-axis, represents the years from 2010 through 2015. For each year, we have two bars—one for country A and the other for country B—enabling us to directly compare the sales in each year."
「この棒グラフでは、横軸、すなわちx軸が2010年から2015年までの年を表しています。それぞれの年には、A国とB国のための2つの棒があり、これにより各年の売上を直接比較することができます。」
"On the vertical axis, or y-axis, we have represented the profit for each branch. While sales give us an idea of our activity level, the profit gives us an insight into the financial efficiency and health of our branches in these countries."
