A proposal adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in November 1947 to divide Palestine according to the areas in which Arabs and Jews lived. The Jews accepted and founded the state of Israel, but the Arabs were dissatisfied, and the following year, in 1948, the Palestinian War broke out.」
