桜が舞う4月上旬の朝、都内にある私立中学校では入学式が行われ、
On an early April morning when cherry blossoms are dancing, an entrance ceremony is held at a private junior high school in Tokyo.
校門の前には記念撮影をするために親子連れが長い列を作っていた。多くの人で賑わう校門に、慌ただしい様子で駆け込んでいく男性の姿があった。歌舞伎俳優の市川團十郎（46）だ。長女で女優の麗禾（12）もこの中学校へ進学する。

4月4日に『團菊祭五月大歌舞伎』の取材会に登壇した際、團十郎は長女の小学校卒業に関して次のように言及していた。

「娘だけでなく、ほかのお子さまもずっと小学校1年生のころから見ていたし『こんなに大きくなったんだ』って思って、オロオロしそうになって。みなさんがいるからグッとこらえるっていう。とにかく無事に卒業してくれてうれしかったです」

同時に、記者から長女の中学校入学について問われると、

「どうなるんですかね。（麗禾は）楽しみらしいです」

と頬を緩めていた團十郎。ハレの日当日、校門近くに到着した車を降りると、小走りで学校内へと入っていった。

この日の團十郎は、ネイビーのスーツ姿。春らしい暖かな気候に恵まれたせいか、ジャケットは手に抱えており、セットアップの花柄のベストが目を引く。周囲の保護者や警備スタッフも思わず一瞬目を奪われていたようだった。

さらに印象的だったのは、團十郎の足元だ。黒い履物は、革靴ではなくサンダル！　気分が高揚するあまり、車内で履き替えるのを忘れてしまったのか、またはよほど急いでいたのだろうかーー。
On this day, Danjuro was wearing a navy suit. Perhaps because he was blessed with warm, spring-like weather, he was carrying a jacket in his hands, and the floral patterned vest he wore as a set caught the eye. The surrounding parents and security staff seemed to be captivated for a moment.

What was even more impressive was Danjuro's feet. Black footwear should be sandals, not leather shoes! I wonder if she was so excited that she forgot to change her shoes in the car, or maybe she was in such a hurry.
