今回は「Yellow　Submarine」です。
７作目のスタジオアルバム「Revolver」に収録されている曲で「Eleanor Rigby」との両A面シングルとして1966.8月にリリースされました。（今の子たちは両A面とか知らないのかな…）

当時のアニメ映画「イエローサブマリン」のテーマソングにもなっています。これはリンゴスターがメインボーカルを担っている曲の中で唯一のシングルとなった曲です。（結構珍しい。）

作曲自体はポールマッカートニー。もともとポールが子供向けに書いた曲とされており歌詞ではおとぎ話であるかのように「黄色い潜水艦の中」の生活がゆったり、のびのびとした描写で書かれています。
聞いていてメンバー自身がレコーディングでも楽しんでいそうな、陽気な曲調です。

Revolverの収録曲はかなり攻めているものが多いのですが、その中では逆にシンプルにメッセージ性が伝わってくる、お気に入りの一曲です。
