my songbook -いつか聴いた歌 その1
このsongbookシリーズは、20年ほど前に歌の詞とビジュアルを組み合わせたモノを作ったのが最初。それは歌詞をイメージして作った訳ではなく、ビジュアルから歌をセレクトしたのだった。今回まとめたものも、ほとんどがビジュアル先行であったけれど、歌のイメージに合わせて調整したものも多い。
20年ほど前に作ったのは「スターダスト：Stardust」
この曲を一番最初に聴いたのは、多分 Nat King Cole のバージョンだと思う。
小学校の高学年になるまで自宅にはTVは無く、ラジオで流行りの歌を聴いていた。
洋楽の最初の記憶は、The Brawns の「谷間に三つの鐘が鳴る : The three bells」
1959年のリリースなので多分、7, 8歳の頃なのだと思う。すでに民放も開局していたが、札幌TV放送(STV)がラジオ放送を始めたのは1962年からなので、NHKか北海道放送(HBC)のどちらかで聴いたのだろう。やがて、1961年から番組が始まった「シャボン玉ホリデー」のエンディングに流れる「Stardust」を聴いた時には曲名を知っていた。
ザ•ピーナッツの歌に続く「Los Indios Tabaharas」の甘いギターの音にも惹かれた。インディオの兄弟が森の中で拾ったギターを、独学で弾きこなすまでになったと言う嘘臭い宣伝も記憶している。
多くの歌手に歌われているけれど、Nat King Cole とWillie Nelson のバージョンが好きである。ヴァースがあるけれど、省いて歌われる事も多い。この曲は、ヴァースのメロディも美しいと思うのだけれどね。
