１．５．４ リモコン家電の待機消費電力と節電方法 （2023.10.01 – 追記）
１．５．４．2利用者の意識・行動、企業の意識・行動とその変化
リモコンでオン・オフできる電気製品はすべて電源に接続されている場合、オフの状態で常時、待機電力を消費し続けています。
今日では、ほとんどの家庭電気製品はリモコンで操作できるよう開発・生産段階で設計されています。それは利用時の利便性の向上が目的で、結果的には常に電気を消費する（待機電力消費）設計になっています。
健常者にとってこれらの利便性の全てが必要でしょうか。
利便性追求とSDGsの理念は一致しませんので、持続的社会の構築には人間の過度な欲望や利便性追求の姿勢を変える必要があります。いったん利便性を与えられ、横着になった人間の現状を変えることは容易ではありません。
リモコン付き電気製品は利活用時に人間が手動操作をすることで不無駄な消費を節約できます。利用者が無駄を認識して行動を変える以外に方法はありませんが、その変化はほとんど見えていません。
個人や企業の意識としては、経済バブル終了までは待機消費電力は無視され、1990年のエネルギー危機の後、カットする方向に技術開発が進みました。
ロシアのウクライナ侵攻による最近のエネルギー危機の下では、見識のあるごく一部の企業はマニュアル、メカニックな方法であっても、また利便性をある程度は損なっても、待機電力消費をゼロまでに節電できる製品を生産するようになってきました。（きわめて少品種、小ロットですが。）
彼らにはデジタル技術や利便性追求技術では克服できない技術の壁が見えているのです。アナログのレコードが完全にはデジタルのCDに代替されず、復活しているのと同じ、だと思います。
自動で待機電力消費をゼロまでに節電できる（自動で電源をオフする）技術・製品（試作品）は私が開発したもの以外にはまだありません。

1.5.4.2 Users’ awareness and behavior, Corporate Awareness and Action, and their changes:
All electrical products with remote controls continue to consume standby power when connected to a power source, even when turned off.
Today, most home appliances are designed to be operated by remote control at the development and production stages. The purpose is to improve convenience of use, and as a result, they consume electricity all the time (standby power consumption).
Are all of these conveniences necessary for healthy people?
The pursuit of convenience and the SDGs do not go hand in hand, so we need to change our excessive desire and pursuit of convenience in order to build a sustainable society. It is not easy to change the status quo once people are given convenience and become complacent.
Remote-controlled appliances can save wasteful consumption by allowing humans to manually operate them when they are used. There is no other way but for users to recognize the waste and change their behavior, but the change has been hardly seen.
In terms of individual and corporate awareness, standby power consumption was ignored until the end of the economic bubble, and after the energy crisis of 1990, technological development moved in the direction of cutting it.
Under the recent energy crisis caused by Russia's invasion of Ukraine, a very few of insightful companies have begun to produce products that can save standby power consumption to zero, even by manual and mechanical means and also, even if it compromises convenience to some extent though the variety is extremely small and in small lots.
They see a technological barrier that cannot be overcome by digital and convenience-seeking technologies alone. It is just as analog vinyl records have not been completely replaced by digital CDs, making a comeback.
However, there is still no technology or product (prototype) other than the one I have developed that can automatically reduce standby power consumption to zero (i.e., automatically turn off the power).
