Person who knew Infinity (autobiography of Srinivasa Ramanujan)
Srinivasa Ramanujan was an Indian mathematician and lived in India during British rule. The film was about Ramanujan's discovery as one of the best mathematicians in Indian history.
A man who knew Ramanujan's infinite autobiography, one of the finest mathematicians born in India in the 19th century, excelled at Trinity College in England. The movie talks about how he discovers himself as this great mathematician.
Ramanujan was suffering from poverty because he looked after his wife and mother. This was very common for most Indians at the time, and Ramanujan was fine with his lifestyle, but found jobs related to accounting. And his employees immediately recognized his talent. The Englishman, an employee of Ramanujan, was interested in the work Ramanujan did in his free time and suggested sending these works to famous friends and professors at Trinity College in England. After analyzing his work performed in the Infinity Series, Professor Hardy decided to take Ramanujan as a student to college.
Ramanujan had the talent and the ability to come up with the theory given by this god (almost he came up with an infinite series-we will explain later).
One thing he found was a series of sums of all natural numbers.
That is, 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + ........ = -1/12 Yes, I know it doesn't make sense, but Ramanujan has found this presented evidence. It's a very simple proof, even if you're new to mathematics that is very easy to understand. Add a link below with all explanations and full proof.
Check proof: sum of all natural numbers
